In SFI many of us learn how to be leaders. This rating gives us a feedback of sorts and tell us how good or bad we are. Make no mistake, this rating has many positive aspects. One of them being feedback which in turn tells you that you need or need not to improve your sponsor performance.
Now, what to do with people who in your opinion do not appreciate your work? Well, there are two sides to every story. You may only think you are doing great, but your PSA may think you are not so great. Personally, I'm a PSA who rates her sponsor badly. She thinks (only thinks) that she is a good sponsor. Even told me so. In my opinion, she is not so good. I tried to tell her so, but she ignored my opinion, even told me that my opinion will never count. So, she thinks I'm not appreciating her, and I think she isn't doing her job properly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. In my case, me and my sponsor are just to completely different types of personalities and we may never get along. Just to be clear, if she were to improve her performance I would give her the highest rating.
What do I do to prevent this from happening? I use my Team mail to send a message once a month with this problem in mind. I openly ask my team mates about their opinions. I ask them what am I doing wrong and what right. Is there something they find I'm lacking..? I also emphasize that I will not get mad with them if they think poorly of my work, but I ask them to provide me with a solution to my mistakes as well. This way we all grow, me as a leader, they as team mates and future leaders, and it's good for the team.
In conclusion, if your PSA rated you poorly just ask them what the problem is. When they provide you with answer, just work on improving your performance. If they don't answer then they probably did it out of spite or maybe it was a mistake. Well, that's just life. There will always be people who would do things like that. Forget about them, and move on.
Ask them if they want to be reassigned to someone else. Maybe then they'll see how good of a sponsor you are.
Majority will rate you accordingly, those few who don't may never be convinced of your awesomeness. These people are just small souls and shallow, and blaming others for their failures. They want you to feel bad about the rating, don't let them.
