It is always a good idea to recruit family members into SFI although it has its pros and cons.

Family members can be okay and also a bane to your success based on the relationships that you have with them. You can't always get family to join you in business ventures,so don't get upset when they turn you down.If they are very supportive of you, it may be great, but if they are not, I would avoid trying to recruit them.

Somtimes it may be necessary to go outside of family if they are negative,judgemental, and critical of you.It is best to follow your instincts on this one and do what works best for you.

This is a great question because it addresses something that could make or break your downline.
I recruited a couple of family members and friends who while interested in the concept were very sceptical.
I explained to them
(1) SFI is NOT a Pyramid scheme or a "get rich quick program. It has been around for 15 years with over 1 million members so 1 million people cant be wrong.
(2) You can join free and take your time as you familiarise yourself with it.
(3) If you wish to invest some money the amounts are not excessive. You can have a successful result if you invest around $50 per month which in certain countries is not a lot of money. However, in countries where it is a lot then FREE is the way to go but more time is required.
(4) Compare it to savings or pension programs where a return is much lower and longer to achieve. This is a point I made to my close affiliates and they immediately recognised its validity.
(5) TripleClicks is an online store like others which they had previously used so they can spend money but also earn money while doing it. In other words they have little to lose by trying out the program.

For me it's a good idea. I have family members in the SFI business and they were happy to be on it. They have great results. I am happy to help them in any way.
My Uncle told me about SFI and he show me and we talk. When I join and the results I got. I when after and talk to them about it I show them how and they got join. This business is going great for everyone.
Some family may not be like this, but its up to the family that you have, you will know how to approach them. Make sure that you show them your SFI business and talk to them about it.

Most answers focused on whether your family members are 'SFI material' - teachable, business oriented, trusting, etc. I couldn't agree more - it is very important. But I would also like to say that you need to think about this:

How do you feel about being a sponsor to your family members?

* Do you think you can gently suggest what they are doing wrong, without harming the harmony? :)

* Can you see yourself giving them incentives in a way that doesn't look like charity?

* Do you know what to do when they ask for financial support?

* Can you see the topic of SFI dominating your family gatherings? (parties, holidays...)

If you answered with YES to most of the questions, recruit your family members.

There are good reasons to tell family and friends, and there are good reasons not to. It depends on your family relationships - whether they are generally supportive or not.

One word of warning is that, if they have not been in business themselves, or if they are not ambitious themselves, they might be skeptical of those who are ambitious, and could try to talk you out of it.

Personally, I tell my family of my position only when my position is already sound and proven. Then I can dismiss any negativity they put my direction.

Of course I support recruiting family members into SFI. I do not think there is
a rule against that.
With family members you could better work together as the chance is
that they are right where you are and you could better monitor and coach them.

Again I would draft them into becoming TripleClicks members.
When they buy products you would benefit greatly from the commissions
and they would get great prices.
Have them become permanent shoppers at SFI.
