There are so many excellent books to recommend, but my #1 recommendation to all SFI members would be THINK & GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill. This book is one of the most influential books of all time! A self-help giant!
Taking over 20 years to research and write, THINK & GROW RICH guides you to financial fulfillment by conditioning your mind, body, and spirit. I have personally applied its famous principles
in my life and I continue to reap the benefits from reading them. Success is a relative term. My definition of success may not equate with your definition, so read and re-read this book and set your own goals!

David, there have been so many great responses to this question.Reading gives you knowledge and power. A lot of people have shared so many motivational books and they are right on point.One should spend a lot of time in the area of self development if they want to become a great Leader, Trainer and Coach. For All SFI members,the # 1 book that I would recommend would be Future Choice..Why Networking Marketing May Be Your Best Career Move by Michael S.Clouse & Katie Jackson Anderson.

This book is a must to help you understand the Network Marketing Industry, give you the real history of how it all started and help you get the right mindset that you need in order to be successful.It will also help you erase the negative attitudes and stigmas that you may have about Multi Level Marketing and other preconceived ideas on why a person would not be successful and make money in this type of business.

Page38 Figure 4 gives a great illustration of how to put the Power of Duplication in effect by introducing 5 people into your business and teach each one to do same.I like to show a similiar example that I use in our training class to help you see the big picture.

Thank you for your question. I am sure that most of us, if not all of us, are familiar with SFI’s Rule of Success #8, “Leaders are readers”. Think back to when you were in school. What is one of the first things given to you by your teacher? That’s right… a textbook for your class.

Reading is an essential and integral part of running a business, especially in a business such as SFI where you have different levels of achievement. This question gave me a lot to think about as there are so many different books to choose from that it was hard to narrow it down.

Here is a partial list of some of my favorites. The list is not provided in any particular order, except being primarily by author.

To start the list, I highly recommend the book “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. As its title implies, we often become that which precludes our thoughts and those thoughts then inspire our actions.

An excellent companion book to this one is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, a timeless classic that never ceases to inspire one to new heights. Another very good book by Napoleon Hill is “The Law of Success: The Master Wealth-Builder's Complete and Original Lesson Plan for Achieving Your Dreams”.

Well-known for his role with the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series of books, Jack Canfield brings us his book titled “The Success Principles”.

Another author that is very well-known is Stephen R. Covey with his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. Also by Covey is his well-acclaimed sequel to his 7 Habits book titled “The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness”.

From Dale Carnegie comes the inspirational classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and “The Leader in You”.

One of the best known authors and motivators in the realm of sales and marketing is Brian Tracy, from whom we can read “21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires”, “No Excuses!: The Power of Self-Discipline”, “12 Disciplines of Leadership Excellence” and “How the Best Leaders Lead”.

And finally, form Jack Zufelt, a popular author in the field of network marketing come the books “The DNA of Success”, “Learn to Earn” and “How to Use the Conquering Force Within You”.

I know this is quite the list, and were to narrow that list down to just one, single book, while it is a hard choice given the thorough excellence of all these books, I would have to choose Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich”. This book, which causes one to examine one’s beliefs and then apply those beliefs to developing personal success, is a constant source of inspiration and motivation.

I would highly recommend "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. In my opinion, this book helps the starting entrepreneur to view the world from a different perspective. It got me to think differently about my business and investing than previously; in other words "to think outside the box".

Rich Dad, Poor Dad, should be viewed as a general starting point for the entrepreneur – startup summary, rather than a list of specific items to do as an entrepreneur. Robert Kiyosaki emphasizes six key points through out the book. It’s the differentiator between his “poor” dad (his real dad), and the “rich” dad that helped him understand business and become wealthy.

By my humble opinion, some of the strongest and most influential books of all times would be:
- The Psychology of Selling by Brian Tracy;
- Strategic Selling by Robert Miller and Stephen Heiman;
- How to Master the Art of Selling by Tom Hopkins;
- The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey;
- How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie;
- Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins;
- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill;
- The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino;
- Drive by Daniel Pink;
- The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale;
And for sure the most influential and life changing books of all times would be the Scriptures. It is not essential for a certain person which one of them he believes to be true, as long as she or he applies the principles and shares the positive values taught within.
If you read these books - all or just some of them - and if you change yourself so you "grow" able to do what they reveal and teach, it is not only certain that you will live a full and happy life, but almost impossible for you NOT to do it.
What is maybe even more important, you'll become not just a reflection of the lights around you, but a source of light and truth yourself.

Reading is indeed important to success, because reading make leaders and it gives us the ability to think outside the box.
My number one recommended book is Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude by Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone.
The main message of Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude is that your mind can be use for either positive or negative results. You are the one who determines whether you will flip to the side of Positive Mental Attitude or Negative Mental Attitude. Since you determine which side of your mind you will use, you are the most important person in the world.
In this book they went on to list and explain 17 Success Principles:

Hello,

This is an unexpected question but a very relevant one. Lack of reading is the number one killer of success. So many people have lost their destiny just because they failed to imbibe the culture of reading.

Even, here on SFI a greater percentage of people do not read. They just jump on task and somehow, they become overwhelmed.

I will recommend reading motivational books on success, to SFI affiliates. There are lots of motivational books around but the one that quickly came to my mind is “The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons”, written by Napoleon Hill, the author of the world-famous “Think & Grow Rich”.

I literally stumbled upon it by accident…and boy, am I certainly glad that I did!
If you have never read “Think & Grow Rich”…then you will be amazed at how Napoleon Hill manages to write so clearly, and with such obvious enthusiasm, that you cannot help yourself from getting caught up in how you CAN make more of your life.

If you have already read “Think & Grow Rich”…then you will understand what makes Napoleon Hill’s writing so special. “The Law of Success” has for many years been hidden behind “Think & Grow Rich”, yet almost every successful person I have ever spoken to has a copy of it somewhere on their bookshelf.

I can honestly say that “The Law of Success” is THE most important book that you have probably never read!

In addition to the aforementioned book, i will also like to suggest,that all SFI affiliate read Gery's Blog. I am sure that a lot of affiliate do not know that, that blog exists. You can use this link to locate it http://gcblog.sfimg.com/ Just reading that blog would make you see into the mind of great men, like the founder of this great company. There are also, lots of other resourceful books you can find in the eBook section of TripleClicks.

The importance of reading cannot be overemphasized. Show me any successful man, i will bet that he/she is a ''reader''. Unfortunately, reading culture seems to be disappearing from the face of the earth.

Yes, reading is important to success, we gain information, instructions and knowledge shared by others through their writings. There are lot of books written by brilliant authors and we choose books that will serve our purpose in a particular time. Since, we are doing business through Internet Marketing at SFI and our goal is to have a successful Second Income through Internet, (for technical skills) I would like to recommend:

1.“Internet Income Vol. 1” by George Little, an important book in Internet Marketing, this book is loaded with Internet Strategies that we can apply immediately. The language is easy to understand too.

2."Integration Marketing: How Small Businesses Become Big Businesses and Big Businesses Become Empires," by Mark Joyner.

Apparently ideas and income can be created if you have the enthusiasm to take advantage of your abilities.
