My advice will be tailored to how I picked my own A2A friends;
I look at their ranking. It could be that he or she is of a rank that I feel will be beneficial to me as an affiliate. This goes two ways :
1. the person is high up there with a lot of great badges, that I feel the person is a repository of knowledge and experience I can tap from
2. the person is a novice who need assistance, has been asking a lot of questions that I feel will put me at my seats edge to research and try to answer the questions and so learn a lot myself in the process
Another way I pick my A2A is from the region of domicile. He could be a great ECA member I can always purchase something from without paying shipping charges. We could have a bargain along the line.

Your best A2A friends are going to be the ones who can provide you with both strategy and encouragement. They show both intelligence and encouragement beyond merely commenting in the forum. You can gauge this best by directly engaging people on the forum. Follow those who seem to give you insight into SFI and seem willing to invest a little attention and encouragement in you because those are the ones who really want to see you succeed. Those are critical values in an A2A friend.
I chose my A2A friends by reading forum post. I read and learn in the forum everyday. When I see someone helping others, giving great advice and/or showing the way around SFI, I check out their Affiliate Snapshot. I read their Best Tip and see the badges they have earned. When the snapshot shows success in SFI, I send them a friend request.
All have been with SFI for at least 2 years. All are Team Leaders. All have a Standing Order. And all are Gold Fast Track.
SFI has rightly restricted 10 A2A members, because there is a chance for it to be misused. Most people use this feature to connect with local SFI affiliates. Networking is a great way to expand the reach of your business and get help and advice from other team members.
I prefer to pick my A2A friends based on the nature of my own business because I am an ECA. If you are not ECA, choose them based on what business you have outside of SFI.
If you are a tripleclick's ECA, you are allowed to connect with unlimited other ECAs, but what about those prospects who are not yet registered as ECA. Connecting with non-ECAs can also be very good for promoting your own business. For example, if you are a digital product seller, you may connect with them as A2A, and ask them to promote your listed items and earn commissions. You could also give them special discounts on your listed items.
If you are not listed as ECA yourself, even then you can connect with other people in SFI and ask them to promote your other affiliate offers. I highly recommend not to spam / annoy them or else they will de-friend you. Use cautious marketing techniques to communicate with A2A.

Hi, Mary,
Thanks for your question!
SFI has attempted to streamline/restrict number of a2a friends for all affiliates in order to checkmate seeming irregularities among some of us.
In order for you to know which a2a friend you should pick,
1. You can first look into your up-line team members to pick from your sponsors.
2. Then, if you must go general, you will need to follow through with the achievements of that person, his/her write-ups/pedigree.
When you would have attempted to pick an a2a based on these criteria, you will ensure that you can relate with friends that share same aspirations with you all the time.

I go by my 'gut' instinct' and the facial expression of the person in the photo. 'Body' language can reveal the person's friendliness and character. My motive to be a2a friend is to help, guide and counsel them to grow in this business. I prefer to work with the younger generation who need our help and guidance no matter what race, creed or country they are from. I like to choose the newcomers who have no clue whatsoever of how to start the business even though they already have Sponsor chosen for them by SFI. They may or may not have sent a letter to their Up lines as SFI instructs all new Affiliates to do so. Sometimes they do not receive any replies or their response is slow! That is where we coming in like in the Forum,we also advise, train and counsel people when they are faced with problems to solve. From my personal experience, even if you choose 10 a2a friends, do you think that you have the quality time to spend? I do not think so as I have found that only one or two will continue seeking your friendship. The rest will just 'disappear'into thin air! Some young or old seek your help to get started and once they think that they know how to do it,they too will disappear. Then there are the ones in your own towns or country who also have the ulterior motive to 'tap' your brains and knowledge whether they are young or old! Once I had an elderly gentleman who asked me to come over to meet him in his city which is 150 Km. from mine and I was not .willing to do that! Since he had a son working in my city whom he visits every month, I told him that I can meet him in my city and he was not willing to do that! After I wrote to him & even called him, he ignored me and gave me the impression that he was trying to 'exploit' me at my expense! It is sad that that there are people like that in this world! So beware and be prepared for the worse and to be disappointed if you think that the a2a friends are all pink, rosy and nice!

My answer to this would be that it is of utmost importance that a2a friends are from different parts of the world.
Why?
Because there is a great possibility that we need help, with the new PSA, from a2a friends who are in their country or region.
Maybe we will have linguistic barriers in communication with that PSA or CSA member. Not all of our PSA/CSA members have knowledge of English or how to use translation tools.
Therefore a2a friend from all around the world would be good friends to have!
Have a nice day and much success in growing your downline with members from all around the world.

Honestly, the A2A program is designed to provide an additional support option for affiliates. It is an excellent tool to use to find & share ideas to grow your SFI business. So how do you pick your 10 friends? You select among those that reach out to you. No everyone is interested in collaboration. While this might be strange, others see it as increased competition in the marketplace. So the rules of success apply: work with workers and I'll add those that wish to work with you. Some people say that you should pick the best and strongest that lead by example and have proof by their badges. I tend to disagree.
You have to be able to see the mutual benefit in sharing. In other words, I not going to seek out DTLs as some of them may think that you are trying to 'steal' their trade secrets! But an executive affiliate that wants to go TL is open to recommendations as well they may have a few of their own. This makes it a win/win for everyone involved. In the end, always give more than you expect and you will be pleasantly surprised that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care and are willing to help.

In the community where I reside, those who are goal-driven, experienced, and wise (and older), are highly respected. So the traits I see in my elders, I look for in my A2A friends so that they can teach me something I may not know.
First, I learned something by you asking this question! I didn't realize that we could only have 10 friends, but now I know...
Having only ten to choose from, I would pick ten top performers in the company who are also responsive so that I could pick their brains when I need advice on something.
I allow anyone to follow me, and I am always open for a chat with anyone using the chat feature here on SFI.
