To build a successful SFI business, how much should I rely on my sponsor?

Good question, and SFI is one of those communities where your sponsor doesn't play as big of a role as other companies.
I will also say, real quick, that no one is responsible for your success except for yourself!
Anyway, that being said, SFI has a forum that is amazing and alive! You can ask anything in there and get all of the help and support that you need within minutes. You will also be able to learn from previous questions, answers, and tips given there.
I learn a lot from reading and rating these Ask SC answers too!
On top of all of that, there is training and information on this site that is probably better than what your sponsor would be able to give you.
If you have a helpful sponsor, that is great...but there is no need to worry if you do not. We are all here to help you to be successful!

Good question that I wish ALL my affiliates would ask me on a regular basis!!
First, get Fast-Track Gold qualified with a minimum $20 standing order. I recommend getting the S-Builder early as it takes 3-4 weeks into the NEXT month BEFORE you start to see affiliates.
I then recommend that they go through and complete the LaunchPad training, earning VP each step of the way.
Of course, I also recommend getting through all of the tabs, and to-do list, especially reading all of the recommended pages to get a good idea of how SFI works.
I also recommend these forum posts:

What is the best way to get my new PSAs up to speed with SFI without overwhelming them?

This is a good question that applies to any new business owner. There is a lot to learn along with the desire to be in profit as soon as possible.
The good news for you is that SFI has that covered for you. Simply refer PSA's to their Launchpad training, which will guide them through the nooks and crannies of SFI one step at a time.
They also have a To-Do list that neatly lays out what actions need to be taken on a regular basis.
Your job is to be there for them, offering clarification and building each day upon the last!

What are the most effective ways to communicate with your downline to get results?

Hello, this is a good and important question! I've learned that my affiliates are much more successful when I communicate with them, so here's what I do...
First, I have a welcome letter set up that new affiliates read and gain V.P. for. Almost all new affiliates will read this, so the quality and content are very important. You can find and set up yours here: https://www.sfimg.com/ViewMyWelcomeLetter
Second, I set up an email service with Mail Chimp that automatically emails my PSA's everyday for the first ten days. I created ten emails that walk them through getting Fast-Track qualified and reminding them to complete their Launchpad training for the day. I also invite them to connect with me on Facebook and Skype so that I am more available to them.
After the first ten days, if they are active and completing the steps, I continue to work with them, offering them more personalized training (some affiliates are more advanced than others). If they are not active, I do not email them anymore from here.
Third, I use the genealogy mailer once per week at: https://www.sfimg.com/Reports/Genealogy there's a link on the right side that says "Send an e-mail/TeamMail to..." In this email, I update everyone on who the top five on the team are, and I have monthly contests for those who get the most V.P. I also reward anyone who makes EA with a TC Gift Certificate.
Finally, I use the chat feature within SFI when I am logged in, if I see an affiliate online I will reach out to them and say hello, offer help, etc.
I hope this serves you and that you have an amazing experience with SFI!!

Should a person go for the rank of Team Leader if they don't yet have a team?

Absolutely you, or anyone should!
The higher rank you achieve, the more commissions you will earn, you will have more credibility when you do begin to develop a team, and you will earn more commissions.
SFI will also reward with with more co-sponsored affiliates (CSA's), which will all be a part of your team.
We are only allowed 10 A2A friends. We can follow anyone. How do you pick your A2A friends and followers?

First, I learned something by you asking this question! I didn't realize that we could only have 10 friends, but now I know...
Having only ten to choose from, I would pick ten top performers in the company who are also responsive so that I could pick their brains when I need advice on something.
I allow anyone to follow me, and I am always open for a chat with anyone using the chat feature here on SFI.
What do you do about PSAs that start off great but then suddenly become completely inactive?

Hello, this is a concern for many network marketers and it shouldn't be.
People will come and people will go, just like any business - I would focus on those that are motivated and willing to learn and grow. As Gery says, "Work with the workers..."
SFI sends plenty of follow up emails for you to those that aren't active. The inactives will also continue to get your weekly email and perhaps at some point, they will jump back in. They can come back at anytime and many do.
Always keep your head focused on the postives and momentum, and you will go far. Focus on what/who is working and let the Universe worry about the rest!
I hope this serves you :-)

What are the best ways to ensure you are building your RESIDUAL income potential?

Very good question that demonstrates that your mind is in the right place!
Many network marketing companies and affiliates thrive on residual income potential. The other companies do so by forcing their members to buy a certain dollar amount worth of product every month.
SFI doesn't do that, so the answer is that YOU have to make it a part of your system to get your affiliates on a standing order of product from TripleClicks.
Find a product that you enjoy and then recommend it to your affiliates...for instance, most new affiliates are interesting in building momentum for their business, so I would recommend PSA's To Go and S-Builder on standing order every month to build their team.
After the team building gets going I would then talk to them about buying their soaps and shampoos along with other consumable items at TripleClicks as well...instead of where they normally buy them. In essence, the affiliate is not spending any more money than they normally do, just switching where they buy from.
These are just a few tips to ensure that you are building your residual income...
I hope this serves you and finds you well and in good spirits!

What should I do to gain maximum support from my upline to grow my SFI business?

If you were on my team, in order to get maximum support from me, you have to show that you are willing to do the work involved to help build the business.
I look for members who are getting Fast-Track qualified. I also review my members tab daily to see who is working, you should be earning max VP everyday to ensure that you are on your upline's movers tab.
In essence, I work with the workers as recommended by Gery in SFI's training. To capture your upline's attention, do the work, but also keep in contact with them and ask questions, give them updates.
I hope this serves you and finds you well and in good spirits!

How can I transform my website traffic into SFI sign-ups?

This is difficult to answer without knowing what is on the website that you are sending traffic to, but I do have a few tips.
You can offer something as an incentive for signing up, such as free leads, a share in your co-op, Tcredits, gift cards, etc. The sky is the limit, and think outside of the box.
You could also offer a free "30 days to success" training program to help ease any nervousness for the prospect to sign up.
I would also suggest that your site contains lots of value that attracts visitors, such as informative posts that train and inspire. This helps you build credibility and makes others want to be on your team...this is called attraction marketing.
I hope this serves you and that you are well and in good spirits!
