As a new Team Leader the single most important thing I should be doing is to provide support for the team. Support for the team includes effective communications, motivating the team, imparting knowledge, solving their problems pertaining to SFI, answering their questions, checking on their progress, providing feedback and helping them to progress to become Team Leaders.
Effective communications is a vital part of the support. There must be regular communications to maintain the rapport with the team. Communication channels such as Team Mail, Stream, PSA Mailer, CSA Mailer, Genealogy Group Mailer, E-mail etc. must be used often to provide the needed support.
A Team Leader should motivate his team to perform. This can be done by offering his team rewards like TCredits, PSAs, gift certificates, reassigning movers, getting them to participate in Co-Ops etc.
A Team Leader should impart his knowledge to his team members, so that they can progress too resulting in a win-win situation. In order to do this Team Leaders themselves must learn and be well versed with SFI business.
The team members will encounter problems from time to time pertaining to the building up of their SFI business. The Team Leader must be able to address these problems and help them to succeed.
Team members will have questions for Team Leaders. The Team Leader has to provide the answers for their queries. The forum, ASK SC, FAQs etc. are avenues where answers can be found.
Team Leaders should check on the progress of the team, measure their performance, provide feedback and advise them on the corrective action to take.
