The key to success has always been the follow up.The initial contact has its merit too,but sometimes you may have to contact a person more than one time it you are using a direct approach.
Example...
A. If you are trying to make sales, a person may not buy on your first initial contact. Always ask if is okay to contact them again.Then get a specified time and definitely follow up.
B.If you are trying to sponsor / recruit them, do the same thing. Continue to follow up until they tell you otherwise.
Most people fail to do this this because they have a problem with rejection. Always remember to never take it personal when you interact with a prospect or potential customer.
