Well,I believe using Skype,is a great way of communicating with Uplines,Downlines.
I have a friend who is living here in ISRAEL,who talks on Skype everday to his company in China.
I had once Skype, and I plan to install it,so I could communicate with my Uplines, and
Downlines.
This kind of talking ,is a real way to succeed, not like the chat programs.
Good luck, and thank you for this great idea, for Skype communicate for SFI.
Skype is an innovative way to communicate with your Affiliates on a one on one situation or do a business meeting or presentation.
For some it works perfectly to be able to see and hear a person, especially those who learn better by this approach.Since all the training that SFI offers is set up by reading vasts amounts of material , Skype offers another quick but fast way for people to interact effectively using a visual aid tool.
Although I haven't actually used it, I do plan to and would recommend it if you feel it would work better for you.

I found Skype or other video chat service is more effective and it is more personnel touch and feels like talking to each other. Somehow it will be challenge if there is a language challenge and time zone challenge. SFI has built in the chat. It is very convenient to use SFI live chat. We can use the Google translator if using the different language.
I haven't used Skype with SFI, but I have and still use it with another program, however it is used mostly for messaging and announcements in that program. I have not used the extensive features that are available.
As yet, I don't need to use Skype with my PSAs since I know both of them and they are local. I have been unable to connect with any of my CSAs although I continually send Team Mail and ask if they need any help.
I hope that I will soon have a larger involved Team so that I can use Skype because it is a very effective tool.

I have been using Skype forever now. It was my only tool for another job assignment I previously had. I don't understand why some people have issues with it - It was reliable all the time for our team calls, file transfers, screen sharing, and so on...
Having all that for free puts you closer to your team members and boosts your efforts to train and motivate.
To me Skype is Very effective, and I have not found a better one yet.
I hope that answers your question.
I will probably be the only one to tell you that I do not like Skype. It wasn't that the features that the program offered weren't good. I have heard a lot of success stories on how well it works for video chats, conference calls, etc...However my computer was have a severe disagreement with the Skype click to call so I had to completely remove it from my computer.
We use Skype regularly, are very happy to have a direct contact with the staff of my group, if the employee is in another state, you can use the translator clownfish, is very convenient and simultaneous translation just download the free program and connects to Skype and start texting in the language of your interlocutor
