To me, a lot of that has to with the our SFI landing page. I mean, have you seen all that money flying out of that laptop? I'm sure we all have as that is where we all signed up. The initial instinct of 99% of people who see it will treat it as another scam. I know I did. When I first saw it, I said to myself "money flying out of a laptop? What a scam.". I was into PTC back then. But after months, I kept on seeing it again and again. I then decided to give it a try cause I was wondering why people would keep on advertising this. But while signing up, I fully expected this to be another get rich scam. And when I did sign up, the SFI Basics page were full of images of people carrying huge amounts of dollars. If you are a lazy person who doesn't like reading and bases everything on pictures, then the initial thought is either this is a scam or this is some sort of get rich in a minute program.
So in short, the reason people treat SFI like a get rich quick program is because it looks like one. If they don't read, they won't understand. Maybe that is something we should bring up to Gery himself. Cause with all those scams out there on the internet, one can easily treat us as the same thing if they base their judgement all the images of money they are greeted with on SFI.

I wish EVERYONE did... and in reality it could be get-rich-quick.
But in reality... few members think SFI is get-rich-quick. You can tell this by their lack of effort, not clicking the daily tabs, not qualifying their EA status etc... unless of course they think commissions come with no effort.
IF... every SFI member simply followed the basis, commissions would be amazing. I earned $18 commission in January (just paid) on my own efforts and the efforts of 2 active CSAs. However I have 18 personal referrals and 137 CSAs - if they had been as active as myself and the 2 active CSAs (averaging out the efforts) my commission would have been around $930 - multiply that by 12 months would give $11,160 for the year!! That would be great and would encourage me to promote SFI even more.
UNFORTUNATELY... despite messages of encouragement most of the referrals and CSAs don't even sign in daily, and I'm at a point where I am thinking... is it actually worth being in SFI - I spent $80 last month (on TripleClicks credits and S-Builder unit) to qualify my EA status, yet get just $18 back due to an inactive team (barring the 2 good CSAs).
So, to answer your question... not everyone thinks it is get-rich-quick... if only they did?

I would have to say it is born out of ignorance and/or associating affiliate marketing with Ponzi schemes. Either way they are the ones who lose out because SFI is a rock solid business and they are growing very rapidly.
Good question. I think the reason for this is, many affiliate programs try to convince you that when you join them, you will be earning thousands overnight with little or no effort at all. SFI doesn't paint that picture. What SFI does however is give you a real sense of what you are likely to earn based on your efforts and provide you with the tools in order to become successful. It is important that we explain this to our PSAs and CSAs while lending support. This is not a dream, this is the real world, and if you want to become wealthy in a short space of time, you better be willing to put in the time and money it will take to do so.

Considering the economic problem over the world that has caused many changes in the life of people, when someone has lost his daily job and is finding himself slave of uncountable debts about to be paid, what do you think such person can think upfront when he has discovered one opportunity on the Internet to make money? The first idea that motivates that individual is to make quick money so that he could repay his creditors or something else. But, when you show him an opportunity that will last, he will lose his motivation about that program and give up because his quick money making idea is reversed. It's not different to every one joining SFI with this kind of mind.

Most likely people today are expecting things to happen instantaneously wihtout having to put in much effort. With the emergence of the Internet allowing information to be found with little effort, people are expecting the same with SFI. It is the mindset of people today that they expect the world for nothing in return. It is up to us to point out that it isn't one of those get-rich-quick schemes and that it is a legitimate business that rewards you according to the amount of effort you put into it. BIG EFFORT = BIG REWARDS, SMALL EFFORT = SMALL REWARDS

Yes, I´ve noticed that hardly any of my affiliates move on the second month. 95 % don´t score any points, don´t answer emails from me, don´t even log in.
When people sign in the score maybe 10-20 VSP, and then leave it. Even though I send them a welcome mail, offering them help, sending congrats when they move on and score points, reach EA. Weekly Team mails as well, with tips, contests and so on.
Someway I think it would be better if there was an entrance fee, let´s say $ 20, when you sign up. That would immidiately eliminate a lot of those, who are expecting a "free lunch".
