The one thing that I noticed in all of the attacks was that SFI was right on it. I would be concerned if this attack took weeks to come back from, but the same day of the attack, SFI shut everything down and found a way to get its clients, us, back up and running.
I appreciate a company that is proactive. We all know that there are going to be problems, so it isn't a matter of IF there will something wrong, but rather are we prepared for it WHEN it goes wrong.
I would dare say that SFI was well-prepared & for that, I am glad to be a part of such an illustrious organization. My affiliates have been notified that I am doing everything I can also, to ensure that each of them comes back and is able to continue on with their business.

Firstly, the very fact that SFI has been a subject to an attack means that it is business worth attacking. Successful and profitable businesses have always been subjects to attacks.
Secondly, SFI has been transparent on honest from the very beginning and kept us all informed.
Shortly after the announcement my bank called me to tell me they will replace my existing card for free. Actually SFI notified my bank immediately just as a precaution.
Lead by example..if your downline sees your confidence in the company, they will follow.

By contacting them directly through their personal email. Although TeamMail goes to both your SFI inbox as well as the email that you registered with SFI, it is safer to assume they are having problems with SFI emails coming into their personal mail. If not, they should have received the authorisation email and the notification to change their password already.
Give them the same step by step action that you have done yourself to log back in to SFI. Alternatively, read the Forum and the SFI News to find out if there are other problems people are encountering that you are lucky enough not to have encountered. Forward solutions to those issues to your downlines.
And remember to explain to them that bad people are everywhere. SFI is not immune but SFI has the best support ever. And you yourself feel safe in this business. Be honest. Your downline will appreciate it.

Personally I would take a few minutes and explain to each of them that in today's world, hackers are a common problem. People are always looking for ways to gather information via the internet. During my 20 plus years in the Air Force, I saw our own government come under attack constantly by hackers. Seeing it happen to SFI within my first few months of being a member hasn't discouraged me the least. I believe that the appropriate steps have been taken to ensure that this doesn't happen again. That even further security steps will be taken to ensure our information is secure from future hacker attacks.

As most of us know, cyber-attack is common and can happen anytime in this real world of internet nowadays. These hackers usually target and prey on big firm and companies. Just like SFI.
Since the cyber-attack, Mr Gery Carson and his Team have been working constantly around the clock. They have put their full force adding security systems, fixing problems and continuously posting updates to protect us all.
Certainly, we need to applause Mr Gery and his Team for their great job. Also, be thankful and appreciate their efforts.
Our independence, our growth, with our strong unity and confidence have proven a solidify organisation, which you can reassure your downline to continue their activity with SFI.

Transparent because SFI can choose to keep quiet about the incident but choose to announced it to all their Customers or Affiliates. Then quick took remedial action to heighten up the security issues with more precaution for the time-being. Doesn't make this you, as a customer or affiliate, feel SAFER?
Intergrity because they accept responsibility for what had happened and took measurements and effort to ensure that every working affiliate's activities, perks and rewards are not compromise.
The assurance that your accounts are still safe even in time like this shows that SFI is a company that you can relied on for the long term haul!

I've been reading some of the others answers submitted, and although all of them cover the important aspects of explaining how secure SFI has become since the attack, the answers I have read have all missed one vital point.
As sponsors, the only way we can convince our down lines to continue their activity and regain their confidence is if we, ourselves continue our activity. We need to believe that SFI is just as secure if not MORE secure than it ever has been.
If we are confident, then there will be no problem passing that confidence onto our down lines. All the information has been made available to all members. It is our responsibility to gain that knowledge.
The challenge is to believe it. Once we believe and have confidence, we can demonstrate that confidence. That confidence will pass to our downline as we pass on the information.

Unfortunately we live in an age where attacks of this sort are common in what ever area of online business we are involved in,be it online banking, shopping or businesses like SFI and we unfortunately are always going to be open to incidents like this in our day to day lifes.
It is important to let new members and those thinking of joining us know that in this case management responded quickly and efficiently by not only keeping us all informed of what had happened and giving us constant updates on the situation, but by setting in motion systems to ensure that we will be as safe as possible from any future attacks of this sort. This should reassure and give them confidence to continue or start working with us

Just show them how long SFI is online, and explain them (short, in few sentences), can they even image how SFI is big if they manage to work it all out, even after cyber-atack. Show them how SFI is stabile and trustful online company. Serious people will be aware that everyone have their ups and downs.
Ask them, do they see how they improve SFI and TC every day even more and more. Also, point out how many people worked in Nebraska during recent cyber-attack? The best proof is that they are still online and one thing is sure:
SFI is now stronger than before cyber-attack.

I would explain that problems are facts of life and the measure of a company is how they handle the event. I believe SFI handled this cyber-attack as well as anyone could, and best of all, they did not try to hide it and hope no one noticed, they came right out and told us what was going on.
If your downline members are having problems with logging in or anything else, i would try to help them find a solution.
But, if they want to argue about SFI due to the cyber-attack or anything else, I would just let it go. You cannot help those who will not help themselves, and some people are looking for stumbling blocks so they have something to blame besides themselves when they fail.
