The management process through which goods and services move from concept to the customer. It includes the coordination of four elements called the 4 P's of marketing:
(1) identification, selection and development of a Product,
(2) determination of its Price,
(3) selection of a distribution channel to reach the customer's Place, and
(4) development and implementation of a Promotional strategy.
1) The first step is to determine the Product you want to market.
To do this, one must First find a need for the product and Then fill that need.
By researching the internet, one can find many resources on what’s Hot. Research the availability and the popularity
of the Product you want to promote.
2) Determine The Price
When deciding on the price of your Product you should look at many factors:
The average price it is selling for
Extra benefits the purchase of your product offers compared to others
Availability (how many you have to sell)
Are you able to offer Free Shipping?
Are you able to offer Discounts? 2 for 1?
3) How will the customer receive your Product.
Digital Products are easy as all you need to do is send an email with a downloadable attachment.
If your Product requires shipping, keep the costs to your customer in mind as this could make or break the sale.
Is your Product available for pick-up for local customers
4) Once you have determined your Product, Price and Placement into your customers hands, you need to come up with a Promotional Strategy to Market your Product. In other words- Get your information out there!
a) There are several ways to do this and depending on your resources (both time and financial), planning plays a very important role
1)Advertising – create banners (there are many sites that offer free banner creations), text ads, solo ads etc. to use at various ad sites. Take advantage of ad sites that offer free ad packs for new members
2)Blog- Set up a blog and update it regularly with information on your products. You can get a free Blog at Wordpress, Blog.com or get your own domain at godaddy with SEO included ($10-15 /mth)
3) Google Adwords – you can set up a budget and you pay only for visits to your site
4) Set up Lead Capture Pages with autoresponders
5) Maximize Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in
6) Flyers, pamphlets, postcard
7) Classified ads
8) TRACK your ads, results to Maximize your Campaign
