Doing things to revive inactive affiliates is an important activity. Just as in advertising, inspiring inactive affiliates to return to SFi and begin building their business is about numbers. On a regular basis, it is a good idea to send team mail to inactive affiliates.

What will inspire an inactive affiliate to become active? There are certainly different things that will get the attention of someone inactive. In general, your successful message will be providing a solution to an important need. Some needs are about needing to earn money. Some needs are about knowing what it takes to earn money. Some needs are about knowing what is possible. Some needs are about having enough time to be involved in a second income.

The more you think about it, the more you will come up with needs for which being an SFI affiliate will provide the solution. So, in your weekly or monthly message to your inactive affiliates, think of a need, and provide the solution that being an SFI Affiliate will provide. Something like this:

"Do you need an opportunity that allows you to earn extra income even if you only have a few hours each day? SFI provides all the tools you need to promote and build your business part time. Here are a couple links that will help you get started......" Then provide a couple of links like one of the Launchpad Lessons and one of the training links that speak to how SFI helps earn income on a part time level.

Just like in advertising, most will not respond, but with a steady, changing, and specific message about providing a solution to a need, there will be some who will want to know more, and then do something to start building a business.

2-Tell them about SF1 business benefits.
3-Test the control group from profile selection to messaging and communication components ?
4-Ensure email correspondence contains a strong, memorable subject line to create engagement.
5-Play with the creative to ensure relevant content hits lapsed customers (e.g. “Free”).
6-Make any communications interactive and easy for the affiliates to do something, whether that is visiting the website, completing a survey, completing daily task or making a purchase.
7-Reduce cadence – once re-engaged reduce the cadence to maintain engagement.
8- Affiliates that are successfully re-activated and subsequently nurtured have the potential to become the most loyal and profitable. Compare the metrics to your acquisition data not your house file.
9-Tell them to take a lifetime value approach to SF1 marketing and long term goal.
10-Affiliate is a relationship-based industry, and relationships need to be maintained. Don’t spend all this time reviving your dormant programme just to ignore it again. Grow your programme by recruiting new players, either with fancy affiliate discovery tools or simple search engines: there will always be new players popping up in your industry that you should contact. Affiliate days are a great way to keep your affiliates engaged with your brand, as are industry events, themed competitions and engaging incentives

Dear John,

Best way to revive affiliates that have become inactive...and get them active again is to send them individual emails highlighting new happenings and initiatives being taken by SFI. Since inactive affiliates were in past active and you want to revive them you may send email through either your personal email or using eCards through SFI mail system.

But for those inactive affiliates who have never logged after joining SFI and became inactive from very first day, you may keep trying but out of 100 may be 1 may some day revive and become active, still I doubt chances will be very low. So it will be better to ignore sending personal emails to these type of affiliates and also waste your time and better concentrate on the other ones who were active earlier but has become inactive because of reasons best known to them.

Also try to learn the reasons why they became inactive. The common answer will be they don't have required investment avenues to do in the business and they wanted to get quick rich and they invested money for few months and in return they got couple of dollars which also they were not able to withdraw. Also they don't have time available to devote for the business.To this type of affiliates you may suggest them of the various ways of earning money without investing an iota. Common ways include promoting TripleClicks products, recruiting ECAs under you, recruiting PRMs, recruiting PSAs. Tell your affiliates they should reconsider and give it a second try by the above mentioned methods.

Good question. Maintaining an active affiliate base is the key to the success of your SFI program. When the affiliates are inactive, I think the problem lies in communication. So here is a few of my tips.

First, have a good "welcome letter". When your affiliates sign up, give them some pertinent information, like what they can expect from you and a little more about how SFI and your team works. This, I think, will make them feel really involved right from the start.

Second, send a sincere "thank you" email/E-card/T-mail. Once again, offer some more information about the SFI program. Tell them little more about new SFI news or announcements, inform them a little more about the ECA products, or techniques for promoting SFI(like how to place classified ads or banners for blogs or website). Always close any communication with your affiliates by letting them know that they can always contact you with questions or concerns.

Third, Keep on top of sales alerts. Try to set up a regular schedule for informing affiliates of their sales. Frequent alerts will keep people much more interested than a monthly mass mailing.

Fourth, keep in contact. Send out emails with updates about SFI, your team and marketing tips. This will keep people excited about the potential of the SFI program.

You are not alone in this! Inactive Affiliates are slowly outnumbering Active Ones!


I think one approach in awakening sleeping affiliates is to ensure that you keep communicating with them even if you do not get a response. Because they are inactive, it means that they do not log in but as long as they have an email address any message you send through SFI will still reach them.

People become inactive for many reasons and it is not possible as a sponsor to know all but there are some affiliates whose absence is for genuine commitments. While they may not be replying to your messages, it is possible that they are still reading them.
Apart from writing weekly messages to them, you can also make the most of the attractive “Inactive type" E-Cards which are available for free.

In your messages or cards, also mention updates and new incentives at SFI. Some would have been inactive for many months before SFI introduced new requirements for leadership status.

I have come across some affiliates who are inactive for as long as six months then suddenly log in for just one day and remain inactive again. It is best to write to this type of affiliates on a more personal level and ask if there is anything that can be done to help them.
Having said that, it is also important to focus more on the affiliates who are already active.

In Summary do not be disappointed but just keep in touch with them and sooner or later some of them will wake up!

If you’ve found yourself in a position where your affiliate programme only has a handful of active players, don’t worry – you’re not alone. Every programme in the world has at least some dormant partners, although granted some suffer more than others. Perhaps there hasn’t been enough time or resource dedicated to your affiliate channel in recent months, or maybe affiliates have been slowly dropping off and you haven’t been able to pinpoint the reason why. Either way, it’s never too late to breathe life back into your affiliate programme.

What do you have to offer your affiliate base?
Before you start to ask what affiliates can do for you, you first need to ask yourself what you are doing for your affiliates.

1) Can I provide the tools to help affiliates promote SFI business easily and effectively?

2) Is it SFI commercially competitive?

3) Do I have the resource to maintain my affiliate programme?

In performance marketing, you reap what you sow. The affiliate channel is an excellent way to generate cost-effective sales on a risk-free basis; however it does need to be maintained. Ideally this should be by someone who understands the channel properly. Invest in personnel with the knowledge and experience to develop relationships with your affiliates and grow your programme.

Once you can answer “yes” to all of the above, you know that you’re in a great position to start reaching out to affiliates with the aim of reactivating your partnerships.

Don’t forget the basics - Don’t forget to arrange a good strategy with your top cashback, voucher, basket abandonment and retargeting partners. It sounds obvious, but still worth mentioning!

SFI is exciting and constantly striving for success. People join SFI just to see what it is like and decide SFI is not for them. Some people join SFI and forget about it, until they receive something from SFI which perks their curiosity and causes them to log in check it out. Become Active.

When dealing with inactive affiliates, think outside the box. Prepare content which will give them a reason to want to log into SFI, and be active. Include the google translate link, in case language barrier's exist.

Put on your thinking caps and give inactive affiliates a reason to become active with SFI using all the tools and resources SFI has to offer.

Thank you for this very timely question. I am sure that most affiliates ask themselves this question. I have been using my genealogy to see which affiliates are nearing the drop date because of inactivity. I then send them a message to let them know of all the great changes in SFI and ask them if they would at least check out the changes before they are dropped.
Many of my PSAS sign up and never log in again. I think that this is a common problem. I think that if their sponsor can create a spark of interest, they might take another look at SFI and find that it is a program that works. It offers affiliates the chance to achieve their goals and become successful. It is a company that is built on a solid foundation and has good leadership. With all of the changes in the last six months alone, it is easier to earn money and that is why most of us joined SFI. SFI works!
