There's a popular saying that goes like this: "Give the man a fish you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime."
In the beginning, all new affiliates need guidance, direction, help, and all assistance they may require to get started in SFI.
You know how lost you felt when you first started, without a supportive sponsor and co-sponsor you went searching for answer, help, direction, at the Forum, with a2a friends, etc.
How badly and desperately you want your own PSAs and CSAs to get started and become EA and higher so that you will also reach your goal? How long did it take you to reach your current rank without depending on your sponsor/co-sponsor?
Now you are in a position to offer help to your PSAs and CSAs who come to you for assistance.
You give them help every now and then, reward them with TCredits, Gift Certificates, and reassignments. You do this with the hope that someday they will reach STL or higher.
You offer help to your PSAs and CSAs regardless of where they're coming from. Some are fast learners and will easily grasp and understand what you teach and what they read in their training. And once they reach their goals or even outranked you, they will no longer depend on you for help.
Some will take time but will persevere, they're the ones who need you for longer.
Yet some will just not get it and will stay inactive, but keep them in the loop, for who knows when they'll awaken.
So how long must the slow ones should depend on you for help? For as long as it takes, be there for them, keep encouragement and praises flowing to boost their morale and confidence. They're probably struggling financially or whatever, but are honest and sincere in their quest for success by working hard and earning their daily VP.
Teach them how you handle and solve each problem that came your way and how to be resourceful and so avoid developing a dependent team.
Teach them how to fish and where to go. The Lord gave us the fish, but we need to dig the bait.
