Because the ultimate retirement from any business in life is death, you should begin tthe process of preparation immediately or as soon as you have faith in the SFI opportunity.

Because per the Affiliate Agreement, SFI will not supply the password to any spouse of a deceased affiliate. You must leave you account information where it can be found. Include the SFI urls, Your ID#, password, Sponsor and co-sponsor contact information, and tell how to contact the Corporation. Discuss all of this with your family members.


As SFI is not very tiring I'm not sure that most retirees will want to give up entirely on working their SFI businesses until the time comes that they are totally unfit or unwell, or mentally disabled.Seniors need something to do. They need a purpose. SFI can be done from a wheel chair or hospital bed.

It is wise, though, to begin preparing the eventual hand-over. Who will take on you business? One child or more? Will you split it into parts?

My plan, I'm nearly 66, is to sign-up my children and grandchildren as they come of age to be my PSAs, teach them the business, etc. and watch and see who is the Diamond. To that one, I will give my second best branch. I will keep my best sub-team to the end.

As each family member shows promise, I will begin slowly to reassign all of my PSAs. This will leave me with a Generation 1 that consists of my family members, my best PSA and any new PSAs who have not yet been trained. This will take most of the ream care to my few PSAs.I will still be a Team Leader and it will still be my team. But I know my work will go on.

As things firm up I can then reassign all PSAs to one of my relatives, or I can leave them as parallel teams under my sponsor.

I have not studied what I need to do if I should approach the Diamond status. I then would need to retain all PSAs who are headed for PTL themselves and alter the plans for transfer of my business.

It's up to you! You can retire in 2 or 3 or 5 years from SFI.

1. If you find enough People ( lets say a number of 5 - 10 ) and they find also People like you by placing ads at different Advertisement Programs for SFI and TripleClicks out there FREE or with investing little money.

2. You can also retire by placing Standing Orders like 125TC-Pack or the S-Builder Co-op to get enough Versa Points and new PSA's/ CSA's in your Geanology to do the same.

3. And you must set yourself goals you want achieving in a short-, middle-, and long period time.
Write down on a paper sheet exactly what you want to have in 1 year, and what you will do to get your goals and dreams in life.

Do the same with what you want to have in 2 years and in 5 years and so on.

You can make a list of your dreams and goals, and what you have achieved on the list delete it
from the list and work further on the other dreams you have.

Retiring from SFI is like retiring from life itself. That’s how I feel and so thinking of when to start preparing for retirement from SFI is like preparing for the end of your life!

But no matter what your age is, it is always prudent to plan for retirement from SFI, if ever you're thinking of doing something else, or due to health reasons.

The time to start preparing for retirement is now and should comprise of the following actions.

Start by organizing your desk. Get a notebook, write down the important things you do everyday when you sit in front of your PC or any other device you normally use.

Write down the important details of logging in and your password and other important links.

Write down a step-by-step SFI procedures of performing Daily to-do tasks which will will be handy for whoever takes over your business, be it your spouse or your adult child.

Although these steps are all set out in your Homepage, writing them down will make it more user-friendly and adds to understanding the procedures better because of the personal touch you put on it.

Then write down your line of sponsorship, starting with you, your 5 Team Leaders, if you have any, if none yet leave it blank to be filled up later. Under them, their own team, if any. And Make a note to refer to Genealogy for the complete picture of how healthy and profitable your business looks. This also makes your online SFI business more real to your successor.

You can add anything of importance for your successor. Then put the notebook in a safe place. Be sure to update it as your business grows.

Then continue as per normal- sponsor, build deep, and promote, build customer base, refer ECAs, and watch your business prosper and your commission grow bigger. When the time comes for you to retire, you can relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour, knowing your SFI business is in good hands and will continue to grow and be passed on to the next generation, leaving a great legacy for your family.

Good question. Planning is necessary to get success.
Your first question is "WHEN".
The best time is now. Everyone should start preparing for it as early as possible. It require planning and takes much time to get thr result. By doing so you set up the plan which does not mean that you must retire. You just secure your future. When we buy insurance for vehicles it does not mean that accident will happen and also in case of health insurance. It is not necessary that we will go under treatment.
Here also you should start from now to recieve a residual income in case of your retirement.But I would suggest you not to retire as far you are able.

Your second question is "HOW".
So you have to build a big team. Directly you have good team leaders as PSA. System says for 5 good PSA. But you should recruit as many as and good team leaders must be more then 5 in numbers.Teach them the method of duplication. They should become DTL before you retire. I am saying more than 5 because in case if one loses his/her DTL rank then you have another to fulfill your requirement. Lastly you should follow "RULE OF SUCCESS" and teach them for it.

First of all, if we go through the Affiliate Agreement, we will understand that SFI has not fixed any age for retirement.

Hence, it implies that as long as the affiliate enjoys his business here and has health that enables him to work physically, one can continue to do.

In fact, there are wonderful people here in the age group of 80-90 who are very active and supportive of all affiliates. In fact, there continuous contribution in the Forum and else where is truly commendable.

What makes them perform that way? It is their amazing spirit to contribute to every one's success.

From this, we can learn many things. The significant one being not to give up easily and not to be defeated, work and move on with the never-say-die attitude.

Having understood this, why should you start preparing for your retirement from SFI if there are no specific reasons - health or domestic, busy schedules or forced travel, etc being few to say.

On the other hand, if you are earning a handsome income month after month and you feel its time to pass on the mantle to your immediate Family Members, its certainly okay. If they are willing to accept responsibility then you have the choice and you are the best judge to decide the time.

If that is what you expect, then teach people concerned on a day to day basis. Make them understand the concept of SFI business, Rules of Success and explain to them how you constructed your Team or what you have been doing to build a Team, etc.

Allow them to perform the tasks indicated in the To Do List. Make them study all LaunchPad lessons & other materials about SFI business, step by step. Introduce them to Pricebenders Auctions, EZ Games,etc. Monitor their progress and at the appropriate time, make them work independently without relying on yourself. Help them when they seek.

Conclusion:

By doing all these, you can relax and continue to enjoy the way the business constructed by you, getting consolidated by the actions of your Family Members. You can be their Mentor for life. Their growth will make you still happier. What else is required??

With any business, succession planning is always important...being an SFI affiliate is no different. It will be important to consider what is being met by your SFI business - in other words what role does your business have with others - individuals and organizations.

Retirement has different meanings for different people so the first thing is to determine what you mean by retirement - do you mean more travel, more time with family members or simply not working your regular routine/not working at all and simply draw an income from SFI or a pension without much level of effort?

The answer to the above - what type of retirement do you want, will then guide your process in the next phase which is creating a retirement plan.

Most affiliates start their efforts with SFI so that they can earn an income to assist with paying the bills, use cash flow towards the payment of bills and possibly start saving extra funds in a rain-day fund. Once all is achieved then people will being the next phase of planning - retirement living.

I would suggest that you sit down with a note pad or note book and write down all the elements that you want to have present while you are in retirement phase - write each statement as it is in the present moment not "future tense". This part of the activity may take several days or even months so do not rush this as there is no set defined way for people to live life as a retiree. But we all wish to achieve this state in life when we get older.

When you have you list started- consider each point and profile match or not match to SFI and see where SFI can assist you with transitioning into your retirement phase. |Keep this inventory list as it will change from time to time due to circumstances that come into or leave your life - this process of Retirement Preparation will always be dynamic as what you do today may or may not what you are needing to do tomorrow.

Preparation for your retirement from SFI can commence anytime you want. There is no age requirement for retirement.

I personally enjoy SFI and will probably keep on doing it as long as I am able to. Having said that, if I win millions at the lottery tomorrow, I would most likely be gone tomorrow!! Lol!!!

Seriously, if you want to start preparing for you retirement from SFI and you want to continue receiving the benefits of your work here at SFI these are the main things you should start doing now:

1. Work very hard growing & developing your team of affiliates, growing your number of active and loyal PRMs, referring as many ECAs as possible and helping them make their business profitable. Become an ECA yourself if you can.

2. Become a Diamond Team Leader.

3. Because your SFI business can be bequeathed to a member of your family, I would suggest you identify who that person will eventually be. Introduce him/her to the business and get him to work alongside you learning the business. You want someone to manage your business during your retirement and then eventually take over as the sole owner.

These are the broad strategic steps to take into account.

Remember, retiring from SFI isn't the same as retiring from a company you've been working for and getting paid from for 20-30 years. With SFI, retirement is seldom full because you are always aware of the fact that you are in business for yourself, and you are always 10-15 seconds away from your pc, even less time away from your laptop and/or smartphone.

Still, if you desire to retire, you may want to appoint someone to take over the daily operation, to allow your residuals to keep coming in. You should take into consideration what "level" of affiliateship you are at (i. e. EAs2, BTL, STL, etc.) as your "residual income" will be based partly on that factor.

I guess what I am saying is, unless you feel you are too old, or there is some physical problem preventing you from continuing to run your business, or you have lost your desire to continue, then why even think about "outright" retirement, when you'll have other options at your disposal?

When preparing for your retirement in SFI, you have to evaluate your retirement needs.

1. Do I still want to receive money from SFI when I retire from it? If the answer is yes, then you need to be sure that you have at least 3-5 active PSA's. It would be to your advantage if one or two of your PSA's are family members, such as your children, who also have an interest in keeping your retirement income strong. Family members are more apt to stay with the program, especially if you transfer some active PSA members to them. You will still receive a percentage of money from the SFI downline, while helping to build their business.This just transfers the daily work from you to them.

2. When is immediately; make retirement one of your goals. That way you will be keeping in mind this need. Decide what you want to spend your SFI money on for your retirement. For instance some of these retirement goals might be - Paying off your home, accumulating a years income in some form of retirement program, planning for trips, planning for how you want to live.

3. How you prepare is to evaluate your current position. How much money do you currently have set aside for your retirement? What is your health situation, what will you need in the future to maintain your health, what do you enjoy doing that will help you fill your time in retirement, and how does my family fit into my retirement plans.

4. Look at what you are getting from SFI. For instance - Do I enjoy the SFI program, do I have SFI members that I enjoy, does SFI still give me something of value, and does SFI make my life fuller, more enjoyable.

SFi is structured so that you can continue it throughout your life. As you grow older, you can work SFI if you are homebound, unable to get out of bed, or any other circumstance you find yourself in because of your age and circumstances. If you are still active, you can continue to be an SFI member doing very little every day as long as you keep up your SO. This makes it possible for you to be an active member when you are at home or away. If you don't want to log in daily just put yourself on vacation, and when you want to check in maybe for a day or two, take yourself off of vacation. There is no reason to retire unless you want to.

I retired formally from my career of 35 years in 1987. I have been retired now almost as long as I worked as a teacher/social worker. Since then I have worked at many jobs. 10 years with Radio Shack, 5 years as a Senior Companion (volunteer), 4 years now as a Foster Grandparent (volunteer) and in between I worked 5 years as customer service representative because my daughter earned more money if I worked there too. I also substitute taught in between jobs. I have been with SFI for almost 5 years doing Foster Grandparenting for 15 hours a week, (love working with children, they keep me active and healthy), while working SFI. I also take care of my husband who has macro degeneration, and too many other health problems to list here, and do all of my own housework and cooking.

Filling time constructively in retirement is something you have to plan for, or the days get long and drag. SFI is my outlet to the world, it keeps my mind active and involved in something constructive. I wake up at 4:30 AM almost every day. SFI is something I can do when my husband sleeps. I watch some TV, but I am no long able to track and follow movies.

Retirement is just like anything else in life, you do need to plan for it. Just as children need to plan for their education and think about what they are going to do in life, when you are in your early earning and later working years, you need to begin planning for retirement. What will you do for an income? What ill you do to fill your time? These are two very important questions to consider.

Therefore, I suggest that you never retire from SFI.

I started "preparing for my retirement" the day I joined SFI, working on building my team and growing my business.

The concept of retirement is a conditioning in the workers' lives as employees of Government entities or private corporations. We go to school to get an educations and skills we exchange for a job. We work for a period of time and then we retire.

There is a twist in that concept: a self employed is working for themselves. They may be a brick and mortar business person, or a store owner.. Such self employed are working alone, even if they may have few employees of their own. They are still by themselves. They are not part of an organisation.

A self employed chooses their own hours, writes their own pay check according to the work their put in their business and decides to slow down or stop working altogether when they so choose.

As SFI affiliates we are self employed, with a "qualification"

There is an important difference between us and the regular employee. For many of us SFI has also become a hobby. We work at SFI for ourselves, not only for the money, but for the satisfaction we find here, for the community of fellow entrepreneurs of which we are now an integral part, for the help we are getting here and the help we are giving to others.

For all the above reasons, our concept of retirement is not the same as the traditional one. It is different from the regular employee as well as from the individual, isolated business owner.

From day one, when we join SFI, we start preparing for our "retirement", so to speak, as we are building our residual income, which is one of the major features of a retirement with SFI. Critical components of our retirement strategy are the PSAs, the ECAs, and the PRMs we bring into SFI to grow our team and build our business

The difference in our "retirement" with anyone else's is multiform. The employee of a Government entity or of a private corporation will stop coming to their work place when they retire. The store owner or small business self employed owner will stop working when they retire. However I cannot imagine myself not logging into SFI as long as I can do so, especially after I have built a very strong team and a thriving business. I will always want to know how my team members are doing, whether my a2a friends are well, what new innovations are being brought into SFI, what questions are being discussed at the forum or with Ask SC.

I also want to ensure that I always have a Standing Order (SO) so that I keep enjoying all the benefits and perks I am entitled according to my rank.

In other words, there will always be something that will bring me be back, even when I am not actively selling or sponsoring new affiliates.
