Email – use this for a small group – affiliates those who are very active has become inactive now – affiliates those who are growing day by day – affiliates for those who you think it is essential to guide immediately

Team Mail – this is very effective tool to write and send a short advice to your team members

Genealogy Mail – this is an awesome tool and most effective way to communicate your team members as you can share your ideas, explain your views, tips to be very clearly and briefly. This is also very useful to large group of team members

Stream Post – through this tool you can also communicate your downline members with short ideas, tips and views

Chat – an excellent way to communicate with an individual to give your valuable support

But be careful and sure first that your downline team member/s has already white listed your email, SFI Corporate and TripleClicks. Otherwise all the effective ways to communication to your downline members has become dark as all the communications send by you and SFI/TC gathered to their Spam Box. So take necessary step at first and teach them the necessity of whitelisting

Besides the above ways – you can invite your downline team members to your website, blog, facebook page for a brief discussion. You can expect a good result to utilize the above tools

Effective communication is very essential to be able to properly render assistance and guidance to your team members, otherwise the intent of your communication may be misinterpreted on delivery and the objective not achieved as a result, because your downline may respond as you did not intend.

Please see below some suggestions to effectively communicate with your downline to get your intended results:


1. It is more effective to send messages that highlight the benefits rather than just spending, otherwise your downline may think you are exploiting them or being selfish.

2. Respond to and act on their queries and concerns as quick as you can, in a consistent way and without unnecessary delay.

3. In your communication with them, deploy all the elements of professionalism, politeness, decency and treat them like your business partners, not like your workers.

4. Resist the temptation of undue persistence if your guidance is disregarded, else your team members may see you as disrespectful and arrogant. Perception matters a lot in communication because the effectiveness of your communication or lack of it may be attributed to how your downline see you or think of you.

5. Do not be too negative in your communication because it may result in de-motivating your downline. For example, instead of a message like ‘you will only be successful here if you set up a standing order’, while not frame the message like ‘standing order has been very helpful to my SFI business and below are some of the benefits for your consideration...’

6. You should always remember to recognise and praise those in your team who achieve some milestones, while encouraging others who are not up to speed. Now look at this; instead of a message that says 'you need to be hardworking here because this business is not for lazy people or tyre kickers’, it may be more effective to say ‘I observed you missed some important actions for some time now, is there any way I can help out?

7. It is good for our team members to duplicate our success, however, you may need to recognise at the same time that no two people are the same and you may not be able to create your team members in your own image. As a consequence of this, you should kindly recognise the diverse characteristics of your team and where appropriate, employ different communication methods in accordance with these characteristics.

8. I recognise is may often be difficult to communicate in such a way as to make everyone understand or reason with your message, however, try as much as you can to use very simple, precise and unequivocal grammar and let your message be devoid of words or phrases that may be misinterpreted.

9. Where possible, you may make use of the new TeamMail feature that allows us to use Japanese, Chinese, Korean, or Cyrillic characters, or other non-Western alphabets.

The most effective way to communicate with your downline is over the phone. Unfortunately they are problems with this like language barriers, and not all affiliates provide permission to be contacted by phone. The cost can be an issue to some but here in the States it's easy to get a cost effective telecommunications plan with any provider.

That said, the second best is email. Email works only if the mail is actually delivered and read by the recipient. You have to be sure that your affiliates whitelist your email address and [email protected]. Otherwise all of your email is going into spam, bulk, junk, and just plain not delivered.

The other option is instant messaging. There are lots of options but not in all countries. So just use the option that works best in your situation.

In conclusion the worst thing you can do is not to reach out to your team. Never just assume that people understand. Check with them and be sure that you are on the same page. Show genuine interest in their concerns and follow up on your promises. Always provide more value that is expected and you will be an awesome communicator.

Any form of communication is only effective if both parties make use of it.

With one of my team members I communicate via e-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn and the live chat here on SFI if we are both online. With another I communicate face to face or on the phone or WhatsApp chat.

What I want to communicate to you today is that you can use whatever is available to both you and your affiliate but communication is a two-way street.

We often communicate with our affiliates through team mail - with no reaction. It is frustrating and feels like a one-way street. It is at times like this I look at my affiliates that actually communicate with me and I am grateful for them. I communicate with them in whatever way they prefer and help them as much as I can.

I view two-way communication as the best outcome I could hope for because then I have the opportunity to guide them and see results.

You are given a wide variety of ways to communicate with your downline team in SFI. One important thing to consider is what do you communicate in order to be effective. You can offer incentives and contests. You can tell them about the latest changes in TripleClicks and how that affects them. You can send them short motivational stories or video clips. You announce the latest contest, auction and game winners on your team. You can also acknowledge all those who are moving on in the business. You can even include a short biography about some of the people in your business. You want your team to develop a sense of community.

One extremely powerful tool in your communication arsenal is your Genealogy. This allows you to communicate with the whole group, or select individuals in your group, with messages specific to them. This can allow you to address both the active and inactive team members at the same time, or to separate out which ones you want to communicate with.

Another way I particularly like is the Stream. You can use this to contact all your active downline affiliates with useful tips and short motivational messages. It is also a good way to acknowledge those achievers in your business.

A really handy way to communicate is using the E-Cards that SFI provides. These are designed for very short messages to help you build a relationship with your team. They are also designed to reflect a little bit of your personality, making the business more human.

You also can tell if your downline affiliates are online, so you can try to engage them in conversation. This can be very effective. People want to connect with the human side of the business, and this part of you comes out best in these two-way conversations.

You should start out with an E-Card greeting followed up by simplified email instructions on building the business. You often can send email letters to them detailing exactly what they need to do to get to the next level in the business. You can reward affiliates for achieving certain levels in the business like 1000 VP, EA, EA2 and above. The most important thing is to show that you genuinely care about them and their business, and that you want them to succeed.

The success of any network marketing business is built on interdependent relationships. Just as you depend on your downline's performance, as it is directly tied to your profits, likewise, your downline depends on you to teach them how to duplicate your success. This is crucial to the success of your SFI business. Your downline wants also to earn big commissions as much as you do, however, they will quickly despair of achieving this goal if they can't see a clear path towards it.

Educating your affiliates about SFI and its commission structure is not enough. You need to train them in the execution of a real proven marketing system that you have put in place. If the benefit of doing this isn't immediately obvious, then take a moment to address their concern by communicating with them in a way that is simple, clear and easy for them to understand.

How to communicate with your downline effectively to get results?

Here are some ideas, which have been proven to be effective in communicating with downline:

1. Establish trust.

It is important to establish credibility and authenticity in all your communication with your downline. The first step to establish trust is by making it clear to them that you’re always available for supporting them with your wide base of knowledge. You must do your best to be always being prompt in replying to their messages or answering their questions.

To be accurate and effective in communicating with them, you should always consider any matter from the perspective of your downline before sending your messages

The importance of being earnest is that you must be truly dedicated to the welfare of your downline. This not only means investing your personal expertise with the intent to support their success, but it also means the capacity to be honest when it is difficult to do so. Typically, the most difficult time to be honest with your downline is when you need to deliver news about an error, or a failure to perform according to expectation. It is important to be honest in communicating mistakes. If you can be trusted to acknowledge errors/mistakes, then accomplishments are that much more believable.

Earn a reputation for being trustworthy with your communications and your actions. Demonstrate your commitment, and it will reinforce credibility. Focus on the success of your downline, and many of them will return the dedication with loyalty. Build a personal brand based on authenticity and integrity. Cultivate honesty and trust in your organization, and you will be amazed at how much easier it is to grow and expand your network.

2. Define your expectations right from the start.

It is advisable to let your new affiliates know the various ways that they can communicate with you. Let them know your preference right from the beginning, the best way they can reach you whether email or through all communication tools provided by SFI.

3. Communicate with your Movers weekly.

When you look at your Movers tab and Genealogy you’ll be able to identify who is active among your downline. Make sure that you communicate with everyone who is actively sponsoring new affiliates to grow their SFI business. Keep in touch with them at least once a week. Let them know that you are always there to support and help them as needed.

4. Send your weekly and monthly message to your entire team.

Your weekly and monthly message to your entire team will keep them connected with you as you provide them your training tips, updates on your latest marketing strategy, weekly/monthly words of encouragement to motivate them and TC products/services you recommend for growing their SFI businesses. Ask them to visit your Leadership page for contests and incentives details. Make sure that in every correspondence with your downline, don’t forget to include your Leadership page link.

5. Be accessible and be prompt in your response.

As a Team Leader you need to be accessible and respond to messages promptly. As much as possible, reply within 24 hours to your downline’s questions/inquiries. Don’t leave them hanging. By all means have set times for communicating with others, but never let a question or message from your downline go unanswered.

6. You can also do the following to strengthen the bond between you and your downline:

- Create an account on social network to communicate with your downline. This includes setting up a Facebook group, MySpace or Twitter. In this way, you’ll remain connected with your downline. The more you spend time with your downline, the better you’ll get to know them, giving you more insight about their weaknesses and strengths. You’ll be in a better position to help them in their development and growth.

- Use a blog to provide information on training step by step starting on their first month. Most likely your affiliates on their first month are feeling overwhelmed when they log in to the affiliate center. Using your blog, you can show them what to focus on and where to find the necessary SFI tools and resources to accomplish that particular first month’s goal.

-You can also look into using Skype for conference calls. You can provide group training for your downline through this method and have a session of questions and answers.

Talking about effective ways through which we can communicate with our downline in order to get good result is not all that difficult, if you have a downline who at least login in daily to their home page.

Firstly, I believe there is no better way of communicating to your downline than making yourself the discussion point. What do I mean by that, as a leader who want to lead a group of people you need to be able to lead by example. Whatsoever information you need to pass down which will require them to possess a particular product or attain a particular level which will in turn lead to the growth of the team, starts with you. Your badges must be able to convey enough information as regarding what you want to communicate. Your Standing Order, S-builder Co-op, Team Leadreship badge, Daily Streak, Top Author, Class Rank, Country Rank, Pricebender, EZ games participation etc

Stream Tab: Now after you have made yourself a good and better source of information, here is the next easy way of communicating. As an affiliate every morning am always eager to check my Streams tab to see what my uplines have written the previous days. There is no way an affiliate will scroll through the same page everyday without stopping someday to read the content of the page. Thats why its always good to drop a catchy and encouraging message on your Stream tab.This has help me few things my uplines do to build their own business.

Leadership page: This is called leadership page in order for all leaders to be a able to display necessary information need by the downlines. You need to upload your leadership page blog to be able to get result time to time. You must include the leadership page updates in your team mail, stream post and etc. Include your recommendations on the page, such as S-builder Co-op, Tcredits, PSA Go and many more

Team Contest: Incase you have been encouraging your team on building their own team and it seems not yielding better result, you can set up a contest, this helps communicate better, they all want to read your n ext blog, your newsletter and etc

Team mail: Always find time to compose a better message in your weekly team mails. Most affiliates want to see "what does our sponsor have for us now". Your update them about SFI and how they can grow there business, that way you can get better results.

Also, I know it when my PSA requires or need few VP to making the next badge all I do is send message of a token of gift certificate to be used in qualification and I inturn get my reward in VP and cash. Once they have made the level I use the mover ro send them congratulations message. This way you can always get a better response from what you try to pass across to them.

I'll list the most effective ways to communicate in descending order according to my opinion and my experience.

1. Face to face in person - Despite the many advances in technology, very best communication will always be standing directly in front of the person you're talking to one-to-one. This in person manner will allow for the direct contact of a handshake and even body language can be read in both directions.

Tip - Meeting your affiliate in person will cement a bond between you as friends. It will build better rapport if you buy them a coffee. Handing them a gift card will say even more than an online gift certificate.

2. Face to face by skype, facetime or other video teleconferencing program - Seeing a person on the other end of the conversation lads tremendously to the perception of honesty and intimacy over simply talking on the telephone.

Tip - Have some samples or visual promotional material close at hand so you can easily pick them up and show them for better effect.

3. Telephone - Almost everyone can speak faster than they can type so the telephone is better than even instant messaging or chat. This would be especially important if you're trying to help your affiliate to solve a problem or to perform some complex task. The combination of telephone and chat is truly powerful.

Tip - There are programs through the Internet where you can get long-distance rates at a fraction of the cost of your local carrier.

4. Chat or Instant Messenger - Questions and answers can come in real time. Links can be passed back and forth. I find a chat between myself and an affiliate is very helpful.

Tip - Keep a note of the times when you see the green dot showing your affiliate is generally online. Then when you wish to chat with that person, you'll know when to expect them.

5. Team Mail or SFI E-Cards - Team mail would be used especially when you anticipate some reply.

Tip - Everyone likes to get encouragement or some recognition from time to time. Send out the occasional E-Card to show your support and just that you care.

6. Email to the affiliate's address - This is the most reliable way to contact a member of your downline and it's the best avenue when trying to wake up an inactive affiliate.

Tip - When sending emails to a number of affiliates, DON'T do it by bulk because all the email addresses will be sent to each recipient and you've just compromised someone's privacy.

People are both wary and curious. Whereas, they may not take much notice of your emails and even trash them without reading them, their curiosity will possibly take them to your website.

They will scroll through it and have a look around and are more likely to respond to you. Just make sure you provide informative and relative information which is helpful to them. Always provide your email contact details as well as your Leadership Page details somewhere on your site.

For me personally, I have found quite a few people send me emails asking questions after they have visited my website whereas, I have very little communication via email.
