Before people can buy into your ideas, they first need to buy into you!

On the business forums do not start by rushing into presenting links but by developing a working relationship with its members. Let them know you first, that is who you are and what you do. Over a period of time this will allow you to establish credibility and integrity. Your own success will be enough testimony for them to have confidence in you. Remember that people are not going to do business with someone they do not trust, no matter what he or she says.
Once you have won their trust you can also easily explain that SFI is a trustworthy business with over 17 years of experience.
You can also think of it this way: what first comes to mind when you receive email from someone you do not know? If the name is an established name, you will be looking forward to know what is in the mail. If the name or email address is peculiar you may think it is spam and may not open it.

When you have established yourself on the business forum, many will be looking forward to your ideas!

When you join a forum it is about a specific topic and each forum have a set of rules you have to abide by - that would be your first guideline. Let the conversation in the forum lead you and take part in it like you would take part in our Forum. If you are in the right forum the opportunity to talk about your business will represent itself. When it does you better make sure that you know what you want to say and it must make the maximum impact with the least amount of words - in other words - do not bore the people and get the message across and grab their attention.

Spamming would be if you start dominating the conversations and start posting and sending advertisements without a request or permission from the forum. To get the forum members to ask you for more information or give you permission to discuss it there you first have to get to know the forum members, they have to get to know you and you have to build a relationship of trust and respect with the forum members. The more they like you and respect and trust you the better your chances are of getting your message across. Patience is what you need if you want to pursue this channel of marketing.

To get your message across about your business is like with everything else - whatever you do - keep it in moderation. We need to eat to stay alive - too much and you get fat, too little and you look like a skeleton - in moderation you are in good shape and healthy.

The same goes for your marketing campaign - use common sense and do not be over eager, that way you will not fall in that trap of spamming. Something tells me that somebody sensible enough to ask the question or think about it will not have a lack of common sense.

The best way to use forums is with your profile signature. As soon as you're permitted to set up your signature, create an appealing title for it and link it to your favorite SFI landing page.

Be active in the forum, but don't mention SFI in any of your posts or comments. Simply offer valuable information and help other people get answers to their questions.

In time, you'll be seen as a valuable member of the forum community and people will want to know more about you and what you do. To do that, they'll click on the link in your signature.

Personally, my signature links lead to my blog where I have more information about me, what I do and how I can help other people. From there, they can click on an SFI banner or a post about SFI and learn more.

Remember, in all of your marketing, but especially in forums, you need to build a relationship with the other members. Once they get to know, like and trust you, if they're interested in building a home business, they'll ask you for more information and/or go to SFI's landing page and sign up.

Follow the very basic principles of marketing to convince people in home business forum. This is because, they are well aware of home businesses and do not need big dreams to join SFI.

1. Get involved in answering people when they ask about their problems in succeeding. This basically gives and idea that you are having a good knowledge of home business.

2. Start posts with rich content i.e. tips for choosing home business, ways to avoid spams, how to handle a tight budget etc. This will slowly develop an image of Home Business Guru.

3. Get involved in conversation with different persons and listen to their business. By listening to them, you became aware of their drawback. In other words, you can suggest solutions to them. Then you can tell me how your business gives many advantages which other business do not have. In this way, you can find people who will be really serious to work with you in SFI.

Hi Olusola!

The best and easiest way to get members of home business forums interested in SFI without being accused of spamming is to join the groups and make friends. Like and comment on the group posts.

Post and share information about SFI without posting any links. If you win and/or achieve something, share in the group. Tell them how wonderful TC/SFI is. If possible, share pictures as well.

That will make some of the group members interested. They will start asking you questions. Then it will be your best chance to give them more information and links to join.

Spamming is a subjective action depending on to who and where you are posting. Much depending on the words/ key words that you use which sound unfavorable to the receivers or being filtered out by the ISP providers.

To avoid being spammed, do not post unethical words or materials that trigger a feeling of dislike, full of exaggeration, unrealistic and unreasonable presentation to lure the prospects to take further actions or being misled to do so.

Tell the real facts. Be honest to tell the truth. It may be hurtful to tell the truth, but that is what people want to hear and accept.
Be responsible and a person with integrity. In business. Think of the long term gain to establish cordial relationships with the prospects or members of the Forum.

Understand and know about those in the Forums. It is not a place to burst out your dissatisfaction, disagreement and dislike in unfavorable tone.

Be tactful in your response,not to go overboard and stick to the subject matter. The readers may turn you off and the next time you appear again, your past unfavorable impression would likely turn them away.

Avoid having the impression that ' I know better than you' . The Forums are meant for sharing your experience and ideas and not to push them to accept what you are saying.

It is part of our role with promotion of SFI to network with other businesses, entrepreneurs and general public.

It is important to review the policy or expectation of each of the forums that you wish to participate with to ensure that you are not "poaching" for cross-solicitation.

The forums are there to promote good business practice, professionalism and share knowledge about running businesses. If there is a place to promote SFI on any of the Forums you wish to participate in, then freely do so. If their Forum policy is only to share business tips and strategies and not solicit then you may not use that Forum to promote SFI.

With this being stated, you may promote SFI with your business skills of networking and professional knowledge about business and if others see that you have skills that are different, they will wish to contact you directly. You may sign off each post with a simple logo-statement which references SFI but not directly cross-solicit for people to join.

SFI truly does speak for itself...there are many marketing aids that you can use in your posts which simply become your e-business card or can be woven into your postings to promote SFI indirectly.

Home Business Forums are specific Groups created by people to promote their own business.

They have their own rules and regulations to:

a) Become Members of the Group;
b) Post " specified issues;"
c) Interact with others;
d) Promotion of others' business;
e) No. of promotions, etc.
f) Everything is controlled by the Moderator (Who created the Group) who has the right to
accept or reject your entry (leave alone posts after your becoming a member of the Group)

Before trying to promote SFI business in these Forums, first of all:

1. Become a Member;
2. Read & Understand the Policies of the Group;
3. Rules governing the Post;
4. Whether anybody promoted any business than what the Forum is meant for;

If everything is positive then please do understand whether your promoting SFI Business through your Gateways is acceptable to that Social Media in particular like Face Book, etc.

If everything is positive, :

1. Familiarize yourself with other members of the Forum through your regular contributions;
2. Try to win as many close contacts as possible;
3. Meantime, create your own Blog;
4. Provide interesting details about SFI & TC in your Blog;
5. Up date your Blog at regular intervals with interesting articles on " Matters of Interest".
6. Provide your SFI Link at the end of your Blog;
7. Having done, now :

a) Introduce your Blog in the Forum by providing its link;
b) Just end it with eye catching slogans like:

- Only for sMs (serious Money seekers)!!;

All those people in home business forums have at least one thing in common – they are or want to be home business entrepreneurs.

They are interested in home business. That is why they have joined the forum. They speak about their home businesses, review other home businesses and want to know about other home businesses. So yes, be proud, go ahead and tell them about SFI.

If you are concerned about being accused of spamming I suggest 2 things:

- Build your reputation within the forums. Establish yourself as an authority on any of the subjects to do with home business. In that way,what you say will have credibility to the other forum members.
- Obviously you don’t want to go on and on about SFI on the forums, so set yourself up a blog or website with fuller details of SFI on it. Have its link published on the forums and direct all interested people to it.

These will indicate professionalism on your part and people are more likely to be interested and join SFI through you.

If email is the means for which you wish to generate your own targeted leads, you may want to take a look at ezine advertising. You can submit a short 1 liner with a link to your website in an ezine that promotes home based businesses.
When the people who subscribe to the ezine see your ad, and click on it, then sign into your website to show interest, you now have the permission to send them an email. In this email (if you're unable to contact them by phone) you could send them a something quick that welcomes them, tells them a bit about you and a query to set up a phone call. I stress the phone call because you want to see if this person is really a person you want to work with.

Can you build a raport with them?
Are they just kicking tires or are they serious about starting a business?
What type of experience do they have?
What is driving thier decision to be a home based business owner?

If they can articulate well on the phone, show professionalism and character, as well as have a driving reason why, then they may be worth signing up. Otherwise, just get off the phone, and move on to the next prospect.
