The system that SFI has in place is, for many, more than adequate to market their SFI business. However one should remember that this is your business and the more ways you are able to market the more likely your success.

There are many ways you can go about it and most, if not all, of those techniques are addressed in either AskSC or the SFI Forum.

I think it depends on your prior knowledge and experience. If you, like me, came into SFI with very little knowledge of online business, affiliate marketing etc, then at least for some time I would recommend sticking to the SFI system! There is so much training, community and experience invested in the system that it will take you some time to learn, and apply, all that you can!

Originality is always best. SFI teaches us everything...but, we need to use our own imagination and our own strengths in order to work our business.

Some of us are good in writing, so we could work that in with all that SFI has taught us in order to achieve in that direction. Some are good in making videos, so that is another avenue that they could explore.

Of course, at the end of the day we need to keep in mind that SFI is a tried and tested system so whatever we are doing,

SFI gives you a lot of training and power tools you can use but if you can come up with something that works and you are not breaking SFI rules I say good for you.

I don't think that thinking out of the box and creatively is wrong and would be frowned on - and I hope you share it with the rest of us. I think this section (Ask SC) and the forum is exactly what is intended - so we can share and brainstorm and help SFI to become better all the time - to the benefit of us all.

Add your own touches - absolutely.

The most important thing to remember is to be clear that you are keeping the integrity of SFI in tact - the purpose and what SFI can do for not only you but for prospects.

Adding your own personality to your own business enables you to add a bit of your Brand to the SFI model so that people may identify that the business truly does belong to you and that you are serious about SFI and that you believe in it.

First, I would say as a beginner you need not complicate things with new strategies and re-inventing the wheel.

Do you really mean 'touches and strategies' or do you mean 'tools and tactics'?

As far as advertising and graphics go, SFI doesn't want you to go it alone until you reach a certain plateau in your business. In the beginning at least, you should stick with the banners and text provided in the marketing aids section. As for the strategies as well, you should stick with the recommended methods too. May I ask what’s wrong with the SFI’s system and sticking to using it strictly? If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Why complicate things?
