Cold calling can definitely be a useful tool for attracting new PSAs; when used judiciously. Meaning, expect rejections and be prepared to respond rejections respectfully. Some persons will welcome the opportunity afforded by cold calling if your opening sentence is one that grasp their attention. Others, because of prior bad experiences with telemarketers, will shut you down instantly. Be sure to be polite to all contacts that you initiate, regardless of the response.

I think cold calling is a plus (+) approach because it affords you the opportunity to set up personalized teaching encounters with prospective affiliates and pace the interactions in a way that meets the need of the prospect. It also gives you the advantage of knowing from the onset who is interested and who is not. And it affords you the opportunity to establish strategies for long-term personalized support to those who proceed with signing on to SFI.

Compared to the other methods of recruitment, you have the opportunity for immediately establishing local support groups, and if you are a knowledgeable SFI leader you can be creative in expanding the local presence of SFI in your community through a number of ways including Co-ops and ECAs.

I do not consider using a local telephone directory for cold calling a suitable method for attracting PSAs due to the following reasons:-

1)It is a nuisance to a receiver of such a call from someone unknown to him or her .
2)I consider it an unjust travesty to the independence of a person having a telephone purely to seek the assistance of becoming a PSA for which the person is not at all interested.
3) Telephone calls are expensive. Why should one waste money on an unnecessary call?
4) It is very much anti social.

This is a very nice question because everyone face this at the beginning.
For the telephone Calls Iam not advising you to depend on because..
- You have to pay more cost for using telephone
- Some people they dont have land phone which is more cheaper than mobile services.
- As we study we never explain any business over telephone - the listener will not
be patient to listen to you for long time.

You can contact them to fix appointment then you can talk through skype or
any other chat messenger which is Free for you.
You can also meet out some of them if it is possible for you.
To meet the people means you build a strong relation with them and that what
you need in this business.
Also you can distribute...some business cards with your name ,contact, your email
and your Id - member ship number attached to the web site.

Thank you for requesting opinions of others regarding telephone directory (local)for gaining new PSAs? Looking at the quick progress you have made already, people should be asking you how you have already done so well. Asking is one signs of genius--a Biblical directive which we a;; should follow:
"Ask and you shall receive; knock and it shall be opened unto you."

So, for what my two cents worth is worth, here goes:

If you can avoid scamming and being obtrusive, by all means, use it as ONE OF THE WAYS OF BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS. Cold calling is really classified as any calling or contact with a person with whom you are not previously acquainted. But if I called you and said you had won a million dollar Sweepstakes, would you object to me doing it because it was a "COLD" call?

You see, cold calling is determined by the purpose and results of the call. From your standpoint, prospects for leads is a business expense. Buying 10 leads for $39 through SFI at $3.90 each is very expensive if none of them become active. Doing 100 phone calls and getting 3% expressing interest in what you have to offer means little cost except time spent on calling. Any leads developed in this way are far superior because you will develop a friendship with them, and all the benefits derived from personal mentoring BEFORE they enroll in TripleClicks and SFI. A correctly tutored affiliate will be worth ten times one who makes a few simple errors initially following the right steps outlined by SFI.

So the correct answer to your question is---YES---by all means, if you can offer something which have value to the one called---and at low cost to you, if it makes your call unobtrusive to the person called, and not prohibitive in cost to you. For example, would they accept Silver Dollars if you were giving them away? Or Would they join TripleClicks for FREE if you gave them a $12 Gift Card? Are you willing to spend $29 on 30 TripleClicks GiftCards to give to 30 new TripleClicks enrollees? And how many of them would enter into SFI from your newly developed personal relationship in joining TripleClicks? In a Test Run of 90 Gift Cards given away at a cost of $97, could you tell if dollars and effort expended proved to be worthwhile? I hope so. After thinking about it, I might try it myself!!

Cold calling refers to phone call made to solicit potential affiliates who were not at all expecting to receive your call. Sometimes, cold calling also refers to drop-in visits, such as being done by home-to-home salespersons.

Even though the word “cold” sounds unpleasant, still an application of this “traditional method” is debatable. Actually, in getting the affiliates or customers, no one single method is better than the other even though we have been in a digital era and digital or online marketing is much more popular.

In my opinion, cold calling is still suitable especially for those who are quite excellent in effective verbal communication skills. Some people still believe that cold calling is one of the most effective and efficient method to reach new affiliates because prospects will feel a communication is with an “actual, real” life person.

Since this cold calling is about a person-to-person call, any attempts to convince the potential affiliates sometimes backfire us. Be prepared for any verbal attacks, phone being hanging up, or worse, threats received. Be strong and let any hostile or unfriendly behaviours roll off and what you should do is just move on to your next potential prospect in your list.

If among hundred names in your list, you get one or two who want to join you, then you are doing something good. Good luck in your endeavour.

Personally I hate getting cold calls.I get several a week and usually when I am in the middle of doing something or simply having some me time.I never listen to them for more than a few seconds before hanging up so my answer would be NO.The cost of making those calls would soon mount up too.
Far better to use social media sites to advertise or posting on notice boards in supermarkets etc.

It is very getting much colder to make cold call than before. To me, it is much more frustrated than shooting eMail but if someone who know prospect very well and there is reputation such as warm referral why not? but as you are asking as Cold Calling, I'd better say turn its time to eMarketing.

Also there is federal privacy regulation is involved so, I advice you go to www.donotcall.gov to find out telemarketing regulation because many people register do not call list and it is kind of strong in a case you are involved specially cold calling to Mobile and/or SMS(texting)

I will give you one simple tips for eMarketing as I did, whatever, whenever you need help to find affiliate, search tripleclicks.com for services. It is simple if you recognize your time is money. Purchase service to recruiting PSA for you!

Two points.

1) Are you one of the thousands or even millions or people worldwide who are totally fed up with such calls.

2) In my country cold calling is now illegal, because of point one above
There may even be something in the SFI rules that forbids such actions.

I have never been a fan of cold calling for 1 simple reason, I don't like it when people call me. If you like it when people call you with business opportunities, then you will probably do well with cold calling because you are already comfortable with the concept. But if you don't like people calling you that way, you will have a hard time calling somebody else. Cold calling is an acquired skill that is not well received in many areas. But if you make the right connection, it could end up being a useful resource.

Interesting question. I can only give you my personal, educated opinion on this advertising idea. I worked for many years for a company in the US that was formerly quite well known for the telemarketing sales arm of their business. Telemarketing is extremely difficult in terms of conversion of prospects to sales. Even with a good deal of preparation and a well written pitch, you will likely face a great deal of rejection and some small success.
