My personal opinion on this subject:
Don't purchase your PSA's than. Don't concern yourself advertising for PRM's and PSA's. One on one off line. Build relationships on some other similar interest and go from there. Money is a sensitive subject so to build a relationship strong enough to stand the tides and time it requires personal interest and a serious leader with the ability to overlook the the small and/or unnecessary things and build using the necessary boulders. It can be done, but requires both emotional and physical strength and the ability to do a lot things you don't want to do graciously. Take your time. Everything takes time no matter how 'fast' and 'get rich quick' this world has gotten. Allow this time to do it's job. Life needs time. Without it life isn't life.
Be yourself and when it comes to talking to your relationships about a 'part time', long term, investment opportunity, home business tell them how you feel about it. The seriousness. Make sure they understand that unless they take it seriously and put dedicated daily effort you're not interested in helping them earn and learn. It's also imperative they understand they'll need to invest money into their business before they see money come back to them. That's how businesses operate. Even the brick and mortar ones.

I think when someone has just joined SFI; the sponsor will easily be able to tell if that person is serious by the way they respond when you talk to them and their performance in the first three months. For every new prospect, the material about SFI is readily available and the sponsor is there to guide the new affiliate. I believe that most sponsors, who write to the new prospect by sending them a welcome letter or email, introduce the important aspects of SFI.
It seems to me that affiliates who come to SFI through talking to the sponsor (for example, friends etc.,) are more likely to be more serious than those who randomly coming in en mass. This is because the former method builds confidence and trust in the prospect. Having said that when you get your affiliates through online advertising campaigns, you will get both types, that is those who are and not serious. You have presented exactly the same message to both types. Therefore this problem largely depends on the prospects. The statistics show that most are not serious but the only way to get the serious ones is to keep on advertising and not be disheartened.

If you or anybody else finds the solution for that problem we will all be happy. We all want only serious affiliates but unfortunately there is no fail proof way to ensure you recruit only serious affiliates.

You can follow a few guidelines to give you a better chance but even then there are no guarantees.

This is just my opinion but I think a lot of people will agree with me. SFI is successful for many reasons but one of those reasons are also why we attract so many inactive affiliates. It is for FREE. It is a catch 22 situation. If somebody is willing to pay you can bet he or she is serious BUT if it is free they sign up in the hope of getting rich quickly and soon loose interest.

The flipside of that - a lot of very serious people will not sign up if they had to pay. I include myself in this group. We have been looking for legitimate ways to earn money from home and on the internet for a while. We came across a whole lot of false promises and scams on our journey. Some of us were actually caught by these fly by night scammers. I for one do not trust these things simply because I believe if it looks to good to be true it probably is. I would also not spend time trying to find a way to make money if I had money to pay over to a faceless entity making promises of a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

If SFI charged people to join you would get your serious affiliates but the market will shrink very quickly and at some point your market will disappear. The way it is done now - even with it attracting inactive affiliates - it is still a winner.

Everybody tells you - make sure they know the truth from the start. Make sure they know what SFI is and what it is NOT. All of these are true but it will not guarantee you attract only serious affiliates.

One way to do it that will at least give you a very good chance that your immediate team will be serious is to treat it like job openings. In other words - stick to people in your own city or town - people that you can call in and do a serious interview with them. Then you choose for example 5 people and you train them like you would train people in the normal workplace. Once they are on their way and team leaders themselves you then recruit the next 5 and keep on repeating the process. Would I do it this way? NO - not a chance.

But using this way again presents a whole new set of problems. Who will sign up for a process like this with no salary paid? Are you going to expect your recruits to do their recruiting the same way? Remember - their teams will also be on your team. Do you really want to limit your market to your own town or city?

My honest opinion? This is not suppose to be stressful. If you expect only serious affiliates you are going to be frustrated and stressed out. Do what you can to attract serious affiliates but expect and accept that you are not always going to get that.

I think that it would be quite difficult to pre-screen affiliate candidates, other than to be sure to give them an honest assessment of the amount of work involved based on your own experience. People have a variety of motivations for choosing to invest their time and resources into a new venture.

Ask them what their motivations are: If they have more time than money, emphasize the free and/or low cost methods of building the business. If they have resources to invest, advise them how to do so wisely.

Impress upon them that there is a great deal of work involved to build a strong foundation, and then give them time to grow into their new business, with your assistance and encouragement.

When you are advertising, look out for the people that are asking questions: They are the ones that are serious and looking for a legitimate business/affiliate position. Make sure you have a place where people can ask you questions regarding SFI on your website if possible.

In your discussions with people don't lie to them. Let them know that they will need to invest in their business to make it successful with either money or time (and most often both).
