In order for new PSAs to commit to SFI, two things must happen.
1. They must believe that SFI is legitimate and has developed a proven history of members who have achieved their financial goals.
2. They must believe in their own ability or potential to be able to achieve success.
In both points, the sponsor is the primary person who has the opportunity and responsibility to assure them that SFI is creditable and that there is ample proof that they can succeed with or without previous experience.
Just simply stating the facts of SFI’s 17 year history of success to the new PSA is, many times, not enough for them to commit to SFI. Many people don’t respond to just facts but need to experience commitment from their sponsor over a period of time before they can commit to SFI.
Commitment usually is the result of growing confidence and trust which is fostered over time through positive experiences and growing familiarity . Furthermore, it is usually not a one time event but comes in degrees as it increases and decreases depending on positive and negative factors.
Here are some actions points that may help in encouraging new PSA’s to commit to SFI.
1. Establish two way communication. I have found that one of the first indications that a new PSA is willing to try SFI and has a good chance of continuing past the first month is if they communicate back to me. This small action is really huge and needs to be fostered in the beginning however small and regularly continued. So establishing good communication is one of the first steps in encouraging commitment.
2. Once you’ve established communication . . . get to know their concerns, doubts, reservations, dreams and expectations. Address these in a realistic way and point them to real life examples or from your own personal experience.
3. Help them understand that growing their SFI business is possible by explaining the different parts of SFI and show how they work together. Breaking things down into smaller parts helps to dispel the confusion and feeling of being overwhelmed that may cause hopelessness and early drop out.
4. Track your new PSA’s activity during their first month. When they take their first PSA ‘baby steps’, send encouraging messages. When you see that they have completed their ‘Daily Actions’, used their PSA Mailer, uploaded their profile picture, etc. . . . send them an E-Card and reinforce the value of what they just did.
5. Show them they are not alone. Don’t wait for your PSAs to ask you questions. Take the initiative to ask them how they are doing or send appropriate tips or congratulations of achieving a small step. Once you have initially established a connection with them, it usually helps to ‘pop in’ on them even if it is just a friendly “Hello”. People usually need to know that you are still there, interested in them and have not abandon them.
6. Direct them to the testimonial section in the Forum and to specific posts where they can see that normal people like them who have little to invest or marketing skills have grown their SFI business successfully.
7. Introduce and direct them to become A2A friends with SFI leaders in their country. Suggest that they ask these leaders about their experience in building their business. Take the initiative to 'friend' these country leaders yourself and get to know their success stories so that you can direct your new PSAs to the most appropriate leaders.
