I have watched the answers to this question for several days and thought about it.

Each of us came into this world knowing how to do only a few things. Everything else is an acquired skill. If you can identify an area that you are lacking in, then there is room for improvement. As a youth, I had problems expressing myself, so an enlightened guidance counselor insisted that I take a debate class in addition to the class that his underling refused to let me take and my incoherent rage landed me in front of him when she finally gave up. Debate taught me the skills to express myself and led me to awards for public speaking that I proudly display.

Your situation is not unique. There are many resources in the library about sales and the ToastMasters organization comes to mind. Most of all, recognize and overcome whatever fear is stopping you from going up to complete strangers and making a total fool our of yourself. If you fail, what have you lost? Nothing, other than one person thinking that you are crazy. If you succeed, you have gained a friend that will support and help you. I think that it is worth the effort, provided that your self image comes from within.

I learned many years ago, when I needed to speak with strangers, to use a simple tactic which was: Ask QUESTIONS.

Examples:
To someone your own age: "Hey, how is it going?" If they make eye contact when they reply, that is good!

To someone you know: "Hi, how ARE you?" with a smile. After they reply say, "What's new with you?"

To a "busy" worker: "You look busy. How soon can you go home?"

Visit an internet cafe and stop at each person who is working on their device and ask: "You're working hard. This might be something to make life easier." Do not expect an answer other than 'thank you' when you hand them an X-card with your ID# on it. If they stop and make eye contact and say something (anything) give them your business card with your email address and phone number on it and say: "Get a hold of me if you have any questions." - and keep walking.

This works in America. You may have to create your own versions of this in your own country.

I find that having a "regular" business card with your name, phone number and email address on it is a good thing. On the back of the card it would be good to have the link to your SFI gateway website or your Blogger.com web log.

I suggest learning as much about SFI/TripleClicks as you can, as soon as you can. The more you know about a subject, the easier it is to talk to other people about it, whether face to face or online.

Initially, try doing your local advertising with flyers on bulletin boards, under windshield wipers, any internet cafes in your area, college break rooms, work break rooms, etc. Be sure to invest that $1.95US postage to join W3. When you get set up, you will have some cards for that, too, which you can hand out to those who inquire as to what it is.

Once you have gotten a few PSAs, you will have become more comfortable with talking to people, maybe face to face will become easier for you, maybe not. Don't fret over it, just do your best with alternate methods, they can also be very successful!!:))...

I am what you might call an introvert or to put it in another way a hermit. I was at one time extremely shy and passive. Let’s face the facts – I was point blank afraid to speak to anyone about anything, let alone a business that I am involved with.

I dreaded having to talk to anyone, so in the past, when I was trying to promote my home business that I was involved with at that time, I did everything through automation if it was possible.

Needless to say none of my attempts at building a home business in the past would get very big, most of the time I pulled out after five or six months of trying to find ways of getting around dealing with people face to face.

About 15 years ago (maybe longer) I took the effort to go to some business building classes to learn how to work with people. The first two times that I had to get in front of a group and speak about a subject that was assigned to me I was dropping my notes on the floor and running out of things to say in less than two or three minutes. (How long does it take to read a 3 X 5 card to a group of people?) I ended up graduating in the top three students.

My fear was not based on what I knew as far as information about something. My fear was based on being rejected and not accepted by the people I was talking to. Fear is a strong enemy when building a business of any kind.

What made things worse was that I have a high inferior complex and always took things that people said or did as being against me because I wasn’t good enough to be doing whatever I got involved with.

Now that I have shared where I have been in my life you can kind of see that I know where you are coming from as far as not doing so good on face to face contact. What helped me the most was reading a book called “Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. By applying the teaching within this book I was able to have victory over my fears and start winning in the game of life.

The main thing is that you need to have confidence in yourself when talking to others. The best way to do that is to only talk to people about the things that get you excited about SFI and TripleClicks.

If a question is asked – don’t be afraid to tell them that you don’t know the answer – being truthful is better than stumbling around trying to cough up a reply. Tell them that you will find the answer their looking for and that you will get back to them.

In this business you must realize that when they say no, they are not rejecting you – They are stating that they are not interested in what you have to offer at that time.

As a sales person you need to also know that getting people sponsored is a numbers game – By that I mean, everyone you talk to that says no – puts you one step closer to the person that is going to say yes.

Back in the old days of MLM marketing (affiliate Marketing) the team I was with never asked how many people did you sign up today? What was asked was how many NOs did you get?

So build your business by collecting as many no’s per day that you can. The results will help you fine tune your approach to the point where you start collecting your YES’s

I'm glad you asked this question because i had similar problem with talking to strange people.

First, you have to be sure what are you talking about. So read and learn all the basics(at least) how SFI works. You can find a lot of information on Launchpad and Forum.

Second, try to talk to someone who is close to you and who you feel comfortable with. Your closest friends and family. Start with short presentation few times a day. But try to put something new every time you talk about your business. Very soon you will improve your self esteem and will be very sure in things you are talking about.

Third, it is very important how you choose your target for presentation. Best is to start with someone you are connected in some way. Friends of your friends for example. Those people will listen what you have to offer and wont try to make fun of you and your business.

Indeed this is a short coming for most of the people At the same time, this will not help any one in improving the business or personal rapport or strengthen the relationship.

One needs to do lot of soul searching to over come this.

Well as for as SFI Business is concerned certainly this is a handicap.

Even if we send e-mails or advertise in Press or social media at some point of time, we need to interact with the people, explain about the SFI Concept, etc. Unless we explain in detail and convince them they will not be interested in joining it.

Then how to over come it?

1. Please read lot of books on Self Improvement;
2. Try to attend Training Programs on Personality Development;
3. If you are employed, please try to initiate small conversations with colleagues;
4. If you are a housewife start dialogues with your community;
5. If you live in a large Apartment, mix with people;
6. Visit Shops frequently & converse with the people;
7. Use every opportunity to initiate dialogue with people near by;
8. Frequently, check to what extent you have improved - & initiate self motivated
corrective action;
9. When you attend large social gatherings - introduce yourself even to the strangers;
10. Start the conversation like - I am so and so - Your saree looks good -where did you
buy - some thing like these?
11. Try & speak to more people when you visit Temples/Church, Marriage, Family Function/
Children's Birth Day parties, etc.

By doing all these, or some of these, you will find you have become a highly improved person and that you will look for more opportunities to speak to lot many people!!

That's all. Now you will find, you are too good at approaching so many people face to face.

The Result:

You have a strong Team under you in SFI!!!

As a mentor helping others with their sales talk, I get to help people with this many times.
1- this is just a conversation, start with a question such as, " Have you ever wanted to have your own business?"
2- Make the conversation about them.
3. Ask questions and LISTEN to their answers. What has stooped you? What held you back? Or What was your experience? Their responses will tell you what they need to hear and how to present solutions.
4. Use their words in your responses repeating their challenges then show SFI can help. This requires you have been learning about your business through the training here.

Recognize you are looking for a select number, not everybody wants to build a business. When you hear a no, this is not an indication that you can't sell. It means that this person is not a business builder. You do not want a network of people you tricked or dragged in, they will never do the work required and you work harder than you should trying to motivate and support them.

Every conversation you have is an opportunity to craft your talk. Practice is what brings results.

Your self-image includes :
* Your body (appearance)- Just improve it by small things, like hair cut or new clothes.
* Your mind and intelligence - Improve it by reading and communicating with friends and family.

* Your abilities and skills - Improve it by learning.
* Your potential- Improve by changing mind-set.
* Your experiences and knowledge - Improve by learning about SFI and TripleClicks.

This is a very common challenge faced by many people.

As you know, 'Practice makes a man perfect'. Therefore, if you want to improve your face to face approaching or communication skill, you need to practice your presentation before hand.

You may do the following:
1. Prepare a list of pointers you want to communicate.
2. Elaborate the pointers and practice the same in front of a mirror.
3. First choose a couple of your family members and request them to listen to your presentation. This will remove your fear of face to face approach and also you can ask for real feedback from them.
4. Secondly you may try to approach your friends and other relatives and repeat the same thing as above.
5. Finally, you are ready to approach unknown people without any fear.
