You can't turn people minds. The best way is to make the affiliate to turn his/her mind by showing him/her the advantages of being the owner. SFI gives us best training and tools to use. Use the LAUNCHPAD "Anti-Wealth" Plan Lesson. It says: "Though painful to say, most people go through their entire lives on what we call the "Anti-Wealth" Plan. Others call it the "40/40/40 Plan." That is, work 40 hours a week for someone for 40 years and retire with $40 in the bank!" It also says:- "The main problem with a typical job is that when YOU stop, the money stops." I'm positive that this will make anyone to think deeply and cause a positive change. The mentality turn that you want.

Having the right mentality is key to success for SFI. So the right mentality can be cultivated through inspirational information. Whether it's quotes about success or a book that you recommend, you need to give your affiliates the right information so that they understand that their success in SFI depends on them and not you. You are their to guide them but not to create handicapped affiliates. Be sure to set the expectation early on and require achievement for reward.

However there are certain attitudes that you want your affiliates to have. Employees take directives from their superiors and you do want your team to follow your recommendations. While we are all independent contractors here at SFI so to speak, our success is tied to the success of our network. So just like employees we have to all work together toward a common goal or you will not get far with your business. Employees expect to be compensated and so do business owners. Therefore make it clear, how earnings are accrued and to get paid affiliates must qualify per the compensation plan.

You don't. Your affiliates have to do that for themselves.

What you can do is share your experience with your affiliates, show them what you are doing to succeed, encourage them to use all the resources SFI has to offer, and be there when they need support.

Help them to set goals that are realistic and achievable, and cheer with them every time they achieve a goal. Give them advice on how to achieve their goals, but don't do it for them. They need to learn that they have the power to achieve what they want in life. With each goal that's achieved the sense of empowerment grows stronger, and they will come to realise their successes are all a result of their own efforts.

In time, they will develop the confidence to set and achieve goals without any input from you, and that's when their mentality will have changed from employee to business owner.

First one must take care that the affiliate understands that depending on their approach to the SFI business model, there will be a need for positive reinforcement geared towards a further need to communicate this idea to all affiliates within their immediate networks. This is not a fixed income situation we faced with here, like that of the employee/subordinate setting. Instead we are looking at a variable income situation, and we must treat it as such.

Maintaining ownership of your personal achievements has a lot to do with personal empowerment in a number of ways. The same can be said about a division of a corporation, it is part of the corporation, but operating not as a subordinate of the main branch. So in short, the solution is to make the affiliate feel that they are divisions of SFI, and not a subordinate of the per-say, organization. With this we are talking decentralization. With this idea spawns the idea of generating more engagement with customers, and elevated levels of creativity. Again, in all, it is an act of positive reinforcement.

Hello,

I think you should just tell them the difference between the two or emphasize the benefits of being the business owners themselves.

For example, as an online business owner you:
- get up whenever you want
- commuting takes you about 20 seconds
- you start your work whenever you want, and you may even skip a day to relax
- you don't have to work for 35 years to get your pension, which is probably not even going to be enough to live a comfortable life
- not even the sky's the limit with your earnings, only you yourself are
- no one above your head to tell you what and how, and when to do something
- you decide if and when you are going to start a project etc.

As Rosalind Gardner said: "Lifestyle and freedom of choice, not money, is what being self-employed is really all about."

It a verygood question to answer.
Normally an employye is having a very conservative thought and have adamency to change. As they have limited resource of money and also have the following mentality as
1.They work for a paycheck — period.
2.There’s no need to give more than I have to, because the company will take advantage of me.
3.The business is lucky to have me.
4.Somebody is mandated to take care of me.
5. I am entitled simply because I work here.
6. I only do what I am told to do.
All the Above things have to be change in to employee’s thought like

1.I have a big picture view of the greater good I do with my work and realize that wages is the outcome of the good I do.
2.Simply put, my work brings me great personal satisfaction.
3.When I go the extra mile, I am doing it because it helps the business and the people we serve.
4.I am blessed to be a part of this company.
5.It is my responsibility to see that my job is done to my greatest capability with every patient every day. Nobody can do this for me.
6.Entitlement is not a word in my vocabulary. I understand that I receive wages for my efforts, and while fringe benefits are nice, they can disappear if the business is not profitable.
7.I understand that there are times when my own personal agenda may be interrupted for the good of the people we serve.
All the above mentality is very well existing in SFI and well framed and having a very good connectivity and well organised.
Work Happily SHOULD BE THE THEME
Maximizing your work happiness should be the theme of your working life.
Happiness creates success.
When you stop putting in the hours and start extracting joy from work, you'll be successful.
This way we can change the mentality of affliates from employees to buisness owner.

I think it is safer to say how do we influence affiliates to consider being a potential business owner.

I do believe that it is only YOU who can change yourself. But outside the self, people around you can influence you on making decisions.

IF the affiliate member is an employee, I don't see a problem in that being in SFI. SFI affiliation is an add on opportunity for everyone. So if there is security in employment, being an SFI affiliate as well is an edge as you are also given the opportunity to earn on top of your current salary.

However, if the blessings being in SFI has proved that it can provide more than the salary when more time is placed into the SFI world, then the affiliate will definitely shift from having "employee mentality" to "business owner mentality" at his or her own volition and discernment.

Being employed is a secured way of earning something but being in a business is taking risks but can definitely create way more earnings, possibilities and opportunities for you.

You have to emphasize from the start that this is a business - not a job. Do not advertise it as a job, when you recruit do it as business owners. Remind them it is a business when you deal with them - either personally or via group messages, by using the word business.

In my opinion this mind shift will also comes naturally as they work on their business and there is nobody looking over their shoulder or paying a salary or giving orders. They will come to realize - If I want this to work, I will have to use my own initiative and think and do for myself.

It is a mind shift that has to happen to ensure success - but unfortunately nobody has a switch you can flip to make that happen

Well Maria, it’s not easy to change anybody’s mentality, especially those who spent most of their lives as employees and never had enough money or courage to become an entrepreneur.
But, the easiest way to do that is to understand how simple human beings are: actually, what move us to change are our needs, wishes and fears. We need home to live in, food on our table, clothes and some money to feel secure. Everything else are wishes and fears, especially fear from loosing job and all what`s going after that.
So, when you offer people to become business owners think about their needs, wishes and fears and use words they want to heard: great opportunity, secure income, better life, be your own boss, invest in future, it`s time to take responsibility, etc.
If you don`t know how to approach people just analyze yourself, your motives and what moves you. Your own mind is great place to start. Good luck

I believe that in the earlier stages of being an employee we all had some form of employee mentality rather that a business owner mentality. So my question to you would be Why was that so?
If you can remember when you were once there, you will have a good idea of how your mentality was changed, and the reason why you were in this frame of mind. You must place yourself in the shoes of the affiliate with an employee mentality and get the solution.
Could it be the fear of the responsibility of such a task? Could it be the lack of knowledge to be successful in the business arena? Could it be a poor support unit to encourage and assist, that would make the "employee minded" more secure in making such a change? Could it be the lack of evidence to show that the affiliate can be very successful as a business owner?
I believe that if you consider these questions and others like it, you will know how to turn the Employee mentality into a business owner mentality.
