First of all congratulations for achieving Team Leader position.
As a new Team Leader you need to focus on your movers and motivate them. These are team mates who will elevate your team and strengthen it. Always show them you are there to assist them with any questions they send to you. Do not ignore them, as you might loose them.
Communicate with your team at least once a week by sending them a team mail (PSA/CSA mailer). This will boost them as they will know you care for them. Also there are e-cards which you can send even on daily basis to motivate them, congratulate those who have advanced in rank, and even giving them tips.
Advertise to grow your team, you can use free advertising methods such as free blogs and websites (wordpress, blogger, weebly and many others), social media for example facebook, tweeter, LinkedIn, Tmbler etc.
Lead by example, when you teach them to do something make sure you are doing it yourself, for example if you ask them to visit ASK SC or the Forum, do it by ensuring you have earned yourself a badge so that they can duplicate what you do. If you tell them to log in daily and learn, you should be having the daily versapoint streak badge. This is good enough to lead them by example.
When you ask your team to bid in pricebenders auctions, do so by earning the Pricebenders badge first and they can follow your example.
Read and review “How to be an awesome sponsor” to guide you on leading your team.
These are some of the ways to be a good team leader. Remember all leaders are good readers.
I wish you success with your team.
