This is my personal view of the subject of your question.

No the playing field is not level.

Newcomers like myself is afforded a better deal than what was afforded to the old timers.
This I derive from the fact that over time SFI has grown and added multiple new opportunities, advancements and refinements, which is absolutely free to use by us newcomers.

You also need to consider that the old timers had to work hard to achieve their success and they did it with less than what we have.

You also need to think about the fact that these hard core old timers are still here and all of their experience is indirectly at your disposal through their contributions towards SFI.

I would suggest to any newcomer to boldly grab the bull by the horns and make maximum use of everything SFI affords us. As plenty question.

I have found that most of the more experienced affiliates here at SFI stand by the motos "pay it forward", "your success is my success, my success is your success", "we are here to help you" and I can carry on the whole day listing all these positive motos.

I for one can definitely say that I have an awesome sponsor.

Everybody within the SFI network starts on a level playing field.

It does not matter what occupation, either online or offline, you look at, there will be those who have more experience in that particular job than you. Everywhere you look that involves a sales force or affiliate force will have those at the top and those at the bottom. SFI is no different!

You have been recruited and chosen to join, an excellent financial opportunity with team leaders who are active and willing to help their down lines. This gives you the opportunity to progress quicker than if you were on your own. Not every company on the internet offers this facility.

Your leaders will be able to advise you on what worked best for them and how you should go about your own advertising campaign. So I suppose if you look at the realities you are actually the one with all the advantages. You are the one who is getting all the help. Those who were here when it all started didn't get any help they had to figure it all out for themselves.

Look at this opportunity that you have joined, as if you are the junior salesperson with a lot of others willing to help you progress. Unlike the position in a lot of companies the number of senior salespersons is not restricted and your advancement is only restricted by your own working practices.

SFI has been launched in 1998 with very minimal and nominal resources but after 16 odd years, now it has grown up like a giant peepal l tree from a few hundreds of affiliates to millions of affiliates as of now. But the way you mentioned, the playing field was and is the same and also the captain of the team.

Mr.Gery Carson and his most efficient team have put all their sincere efforts to improve the system periodically with many innovative and progressive ideas . SFI has moved nicely and steadily with those methods to please all types of affiliates whether they are old or new in the system alike.

I can narrate my own experience in a good way to make the things simpler. When I joined in SFI a couple of years ago, there were not many facilities or features the way the current lot of affiliates enjoys. I was in the dire straight at times for the want of some suggestions and perhaps guidance from others. Now we have a very vast improved system where everything is available with a click of a mouse. Moreover, if you see the auctions arena now, you will come to know that how they have improved the entire scenario of the auction circuit and how it was earlier.

For example, now, you can opt from many auction windows and choose the right category as you belong to, like First Win, Junior Auctions and Regular Ones apart from the Big Dogs Auctions. Is it not a fair change? Or don’t you think so? By all means, they have improved and made the best changes they can afford to, to please the entire SFI fraternity to move forward and make a strong and profitable career with SFI. In the coming days, you can expect more and more positive changes in the system.

Hence, I don’t think that the Playing Field has been changed but the way it was looking earlier has been changed in POSITIVE and GOOD ways.

Besides, once you get on the playing field it’s not about whether you’re liked or not liked. All that matters is to play at a high level and do whatever it takes to help your team win. That’s what it’s about.

The honest answer to your question is "yes"

The good thing about SFI is that it is an income building business. The implication is that everyone is here building their income, irrespective of your join up time. The same opportunities apply to every one. Every one is faced with the same activities on the ledger page. As you perform the daily, weekly, monthly and intermediate activities, you earn your VersaPoints like every other member. The same applies to your getting started activities and the Launchpad review.

There is no limit on growth and no preferential treatment, you get your positions and badge as you qualify for them like every other old member.

Its an equal level playing field for every member, whether old or new. With time new members will also become old members and enjoy the benefits of building their SFI business around all SFI streams of income.

Being in operation for 16 years means that SFI is a successful business. It also means that there are more seasoned affiliates with the skills and knowledge of what it takes to operate in an online business environment. For you as a newbie, it means you have a lot of experienced individual to ask for assistance. Remember, they were newbies once.

Bear in mind that each month VP starts anew and each member has to repeatedly earn their EA status. The more experienced affiliates may have several standing orders and even a business which has a high or average sales rate or several websites advertising SFI and their respective businesses.

The question is what skills do you bring to SFI?
What are you willing to do to succeed in SFI?

The opportunities that are available to the experience affiliates are the same opportunities that are available to you. It is up to you to make use of the available opportunities and online resources to excel in this business.
Get to know the business, seek assistance when the need arises, use whatever skills and knowledge you may have, be creative and innovative, read a lot, and grow as the more experienced affiliates have grown.

The playing field is level you just need to apply yourself.

Let's weigh the pros and cons of joining now vis-a-vis the "missed opportunity" to join earlier, say 5 years or so ago... The "Cons" first -

(a) It may appear that those who joined earlier would have got more opportunities to earn though access to a new and wider marketplace.

- This is certainly not correct as the marketplace is too huge and still growing and would keep growing for decades to come.

(b) The jealousy factor... those at the top get the all cream through the efforts of those joining after or below them!

- Again, not correct. The level (EA, BTL, STL, GTL, PTL... and so on), defines the depth of one's access to his/her downlines for sharing the benefits. So, a relatively newer joinee who is able to maintain himself/herself at a higher level is likely to earn much more than those uplines who are at a lower level.

Now the "Pros" -

(a) Those who join later get a more stable and time-tested platform, more fine-tuned processes and a much wider range of products to sell and choose from, and so on.

(b) Those who join later also get the opportunity to learn and benefit from a longer chain of uplines.

(c) E-commerce is gaining a wider acceptability day-by-day, and ECAs can quickly access larger markets as compared to the earlier times when it was restricted to only the developed countries or at the most to a few big metros in the developing countries.

Going through the above carefully, you may find that the playing field is more favorable now than ever before.

I believe SFI is fair to everyone. It is gender fair as it is for both men and women. It is culture fair as it is for anyone across the globe. It is for everyone who has dreams to succeed with opportunities for growth in income and in life. But it all depends on you.

I can see that the monthly resetting of VP is one way of playing fair. Every month, all of us are in the same page. We are all affiliates with 0VP in our scoreboards. And it is up to us how we climb up to the status that we want to be in.

It depends on the decision we choose to be in. The commitment we want to give. We all had the same training kits and learning resources. We all have the same beginnings here. All the opportunities if for everyone. But with all the common things that we have, it depends on you how you choose to succeed.

Yes indeed it depends on how much effort you put to get the results.

I'm also new to SFI; what you need to do is log in daily and complete your daily, weekly and monthly activities (from to-do list) to earn the versapoints. By so doing you are accumulating VP to increase your rank and benefits too.

By going through the SFI basics, launchpad, SFI's rules of success and all training available to make you succeed. This way you'll be learning and earning.

With every business you need to be patient to see the results. You don't expect to grow your business in a few days or weeks. Take time to learn the basics of growing your business by advertising through the social media to your friends in Facebook, twitter, pin-interest, LinkedIn and so on. The more affiliates you bring in; the higher commission you get through duplication. You'll need to teach them exactly what you do so they'll be able to grow and succeed like you.

Once you set your goals try to review them regularly. I do it almost daily and i get motivated when i achieve them.

Make friends with affiliates from different countries through the a2a membership. Friends who will guide you through their success stories and experiences too.

Be sure to go through the alerts tab, here you'll get updates on all important news. Try to join the forums and gain experience shared by all. You feel the presence of all members exchanging business ideas and expand your knowledge.

That part of the natural I equality and seniority in life reflecting here too.

However, you can win price bender auctions whereas the older person does not. You can answer 2000 questions and the older person does not.
You can win E365 contest and the older person does not or was eliminated in his class.
You may have started on a fast tract and has the badge while the older person did not and does not have the badge.
Equally, there are new introductions these days like the games, etc that was not there for the older people which could have helped them to reach platinum or gold team leadership easily than now.

You have equal opportunity to and can even have more affiliates than the old affiliates if you are active in organizing seminars, advertising SFI in various forms in your locality and among your peers along with social media.

There are more level playing grounds in addition to these
