From the experiences I have encountered, it is not so much about negativity; it is more do with the fear of the unknown. Again, a lot of people tend to think marketing and sales is very difficult. They will give you answer like "I do not relate well with strangers" or "I would not know where to start" or "I do not know the first about marketing". You get the drift.
The first thing for you to do is to assure them that everyone can make it in this business but it will depend on attitude. Then add in the guts and confidence to get what they want.
Secondly, you will probably need to cover marketing and sales methods in brainstorming sessions. Cold calling etc.
Lastly, be the best and most accurate communicater. This means studying all material available on SFI so that you have ready answers for your team. Fumbling for answers will not cut it.
Fear is an inhibitor. I say get rid of that variable first before anything else.
