Leadership is a term defined as an influence, that is, the art or process of influencing people so that they strive willingly and enthusiastically towards the achievement of group goals.
Leaders act to help a group attain their objectives through the maximum application of its capabilities. They do not stand behind a group to push and prod; instead place themselves before the group as they facilitate progress and inspire the group to accomplish goals (i.e. leading by example).
To be a good Team Leader you have to envision the future.
1. Leading by example, you should be able to use the power of knowledge to help; guide and transform their performance into a successful one.
2. You should be able to establish a direct connection with each team member to understand their motives and motivating factors and act on them.
3. You should be able to know high and low period of each of your member so that you are there at that moment to cherish or cheer them up from such situations respectively.
4. Your acts should be directional and motivating to be duplicated. Develop an environment in your team that your success becomes inflictive and duplicative. You can set this up with good communication channels established through mails, posts and threads with the facilities available.
5. You should be the inspiring source for your team. Your profile page would be one testimony to it.
6. In the pure context of SFI, you should be following each and every step of being an awesome sponsor; be a great communicator; good motivator and a helpful trainer.
This when implemented correctly will make you a Good Team Leader of your group.
