You want to create an enthusiastic approach from your prospects, family and/or friends so that they can listen to you and react positively. That is the essence of a good script. How about these initial introductions to help you soften up the atmosphere and relieve you from the responsibility of being seen as a stranger?
** "My name is Hawaii, you look like you have been living in Timbuktu for some time - are you very busy right now, may I take 10 minutes of your time"?
** "Gosh, this heat is incredible, in Timbuktu the temperatures are much cooler, do you prefer the cold? Oh sorry, I am France, I hope I did not call you at a wrong time, can we talk now?"
** "Are you going to Vanuatu for Christmas - I might just bump into you there, it is indeed a great place to live in, quiet and serene? May I sit next to you"?
** "Is he 12, he looks so mature for his age, my son is so naughty and I have to make sure he is occupied all the time, kids these days are very well advanced-I call them the dot.com kids" Can we talk while we have time, I have something really exciting to share with you?
In all the above cases, your tone conveys a lot of non verbal signals that must remain positive at all times; if you are on the phone, your laughter can be seen by the phone at the other end of the phone. So can your enthusiasm and it is important that you keep this in mind at all times.
