Online marketing is no different from offline marketing where the common denominator is that you are talking to people. Sometimes we tend to get carried away and in our enthusiasm spend less time listening than talking but you can improve this trend using the following guidelines.
1. Inquire into the needs of your affiliates, what is important to them and this leads them to talk about themselves which gives you the chance to listen.
2. Engage in communications via skype, viber or other means where you can actually talk to them and this will give you the perfect chance to spend more time listening than talking.
3. Do not try too hard to probe or push your affiliates into divulging details about them that they may not be comfortable to give out. Give them time to open up to you. Build a rapport and this means listening to their requests.
4. More often than not, we need to back down if an affiliate expresses no interest in the business because this shows that you respect their wishes but remember also that in doing so you are giving them the opportunity to come back and start again. You may not think so at the time but this is very possible.
Listening is an art that needs to be developed, some of us when we start to speak, the conversation gets centered around one person and this must be avoided. Give the person a chance to speak! I have assumed in your question that you are talking and listening to SFI affiliates.
