There are numerous sites that will teach you how to write great ad copy. There are even sites that will analyse the impact of the headlines you are using. But you can be sure that many of your competition also use the same sites and/or tools to perfect their advertising.
How then do you position yourself ahead of your competition?
Many sites, especially those that offer free advertising, will allow you to "upgrade" your ad. These upgrades can include such things as your headline in bold or colour. You can opt to enclose your ad copy in a brightly coloured box. You can choose to have your ad run at the top of your chosen category. You can even choose to have your ad run at the top of every page on the site, no matter the search term used.
All these upgrades comes with fees attached, with the least expensive typically being the emboldened headline and the most expensive is having your ad run at the top of every page on the site.
