I think it can be worthwhile, but I would be careful. It depends on your volume of PSA's each month that are signing up under you. It's been said that about 2% of those that register will really be serious about SFI. So, if your PSA's are coming from auctions, S-Builder, or other ECA signups, you could spend a lot of time sending personalized welcome letters to those that will never log in again.
But if you know the new PSA's, i.e. personal referrals/signups, then it's definitely good to send a personalized welcome letter.
For those random PSA signups, I generally send a generic welcome letter, trying to highlight the positive aspects of SFI, and then for those that give me a response to show a little interest, I definitely send a more personalized mail as soon as possible...
