Send a personal welcome e-mail from that address when a PSA Joins. If they gave a good e-mail address you will not get a report back but if you get a bounce report the e-mail address was invalid.
Using your own domain name and self hosted e-mail account looks more professional and is less apt to run into delivery issues because of SPAM filters etc.. SFI send millions of e-mails per month so having the same message come from SFI as comes from you with a SPAM Alert Term like Home Business, the SFI mail is more apt to get put in the SPAM folder than the e-mail account sending 50 messages a month with that term in it.
Get a E-mail Spam Checker,
There are free and paid tools available to check an e-mail on a 5 point scale for likelihood of being stopped by SPAM Filters. Keeping e-mails under a 2.5 score will ensure more e-mails get delivered and fewer end up in the SPAM folder.
Never include more than 3 links in the body of an e-mail, and avoid promotional signature files and plan on having more text than image content. If you have a image in the e-mail add 3-4 lines of text as well so it doesn't look like an HTML Advert designed to trick SPAM Filters.
Check your e-mail address regularly to see if it is blacklisted at Spamhaus and Project Honeypot. These services will let you know if there have been numerous complaints about your e-mail sending SPAM because it's always possible that your e-mail account gets hacked by spammers who send these unsolicited commercial mailings under your name. I have had it happen to me a couple times and had to prove the hack had occurred and had been fixed to get the e-mail or domain unblocked.
Above all don't send sales pitches and advertising, send valuable content and people will not report you for SPAM and will be more likely to follow your links.
