Now your your question is how to maintain or even increase that momentum.
My suggestion is you build from what you have already done to create that momentum. I don't know, probably you created a contest that attracted participation from your group, then build on that.
The key to maintain that momentum is keep those who participated wants for more. And they key to boost or increase participation is to attract more participants.
I run a FREE coop every month among my PSA who can reach at least EA, it created a certain momentum, I maintain this momentum by repeatedly announcing it four times a month.
I increase participation by giving Gift certificate to those who will become EA2 for the first time, the value of gift certificate is quite attractive that every one would like to have it.
I learned this by observing what SFI management is doing. You probably observe that every month there is something new with SFI.
The prices are getting bigger but you also observed that many of the motivational efforts of SFI are not in the form money. Many are in the form of badges that gives honor and moral to the affiliates. Learn from them and you will not run out of creative ways to maintain or boost the momentum of your group.
