great question.
For starters, take a look as much as you can at some auctions for products you have an interest in. The previous bidding prices, and in case of a running auction, see who's bidding.
Make sure you have enough T credits, i'd say a minimum of 50, 100 would be even better.
if you don't have that many credits, Do not use the autobid feature, as you'll blow all your valuable t credits a way fast.
Watch how it's going, is there many competition, wait out, till it slows down. when the counter starts to get to the final 10 seconds often, then start your bidding, still watch what your competition is doing though.
this is what i do, and i have won a couple of times, without wasting to many T credits.
