1. Generally, most of us are greatly overwhelmed & uncomfortable while approaching strangers face to face; this can be mainly due to lack of experience in this area! Hence its time to practice the same –remember the age old dictum “Practice makes one Perfect”
Strengthening your self confidence is the key to improvement.
2. Foremost of all, cultivate and develop your language of communication - must be able to say the same things in different ways by adopting different approaches. A few tips to help you practice and learn how to approach people with confidence.
a) Whenever you are out in public, smile and say ‘Hi’, good morning/evening- as the time may be- to at least a couple of strangers who pass by, most times they will respond back returning your greeting, which will increase your confidence, mental makeup & give you a good feeling!.
b) Practice to make small talk with the salesperson when being served at a store even if it's just mentioning how nice the day is or how has his/her day been so far. This is how a conversation can be started.
c) By making frequent phone calls, you learn how to talk with another person and hold a conversation.
d) If you have friends who are a people's person or have the “gift of the gab” try to spend more time with them,they have great energy that can be transferred to you!.
d) The more you practice the above,the more confident you become. Gradually, it will get easier and you can naturally bring in the topic of SFI, TripleClicks or whatever you have in mind into your conversations.
3. Always take the help of your family members, relatives, friends, neighbors etc. to rehearse what you would like to convey to a stranger about SFI/TC; ask them to find out any deficit or lacuna that exists in you for necessary correction.
4. Look at yourself in the mirror and correct your gestures and body language in order to look more confident. Test the wordings, phrases and grammar of the language you speak and confirm before-hand.
5. Adequate preparation is the “mantra”.Before you approach any prospective client for promotional purposes, you need to work out what you are going to say. Try to write down your 'sales line' and rehearse the same. You need to know it so well that you can say it in a methodical sequence and in different words but conveying the same meaning. Other than your sales line, think also of likely objections or questions people might have. Anticipate these and prepare and arm yourself with these answers.
6. Educate yourself with as much info you can collect from the SFI internet lessons,Launch Pad Lessons, SFI Basics, ASK SC answers to other affiliates questions, Forum discussions, Newsletters etc. This sort of varied knowledge will make you confident to approach people and explain details to promote SFI. Develop and strengthen the basics and advanced knowledge about the TC products/Services that is being promoted or advertised by word of mouth. You therefore need to have a good understanding of SFI and Triple Clicks. With knowledge comes confidence. People with scarce information/knowledge lack the confidence to approach people for conveying what they have in mind. Adequate knowledge of any topic is the key.
7.Adopt different methods of approach to speak to various groups of people with a particular emphasis on salutation, truthfulness, honesty, gratitude, readiness to accept criticism and correction etc.
8. Always maintain brevity i.e., speak clearly & precisely to the point. Never beat around the bush!
9. In case, if you do not have any particular information sought by your prospect, politely tell them that you are not aware but will surely find out the information from your superiors and let them know at the earliest. You can request their contact phone number, find out the answer and ring them back. This is the ideal way of following up on a sales lead!
10. Ensure that all the required proofs/documents are available with you whenever you approach any prospective client.
11. Always convey your thanks to the client for giving you an opportunity for communication and remember to take leave with permission.
12. Please don’t get put off by the people who say “no”. That is just part of the game; move on to the next person. That’s the way of life!
13. Be confident - body language speaks volumes. Be assured that you are convinced of what you are speaking about with your body language complimenting this. People notice these small things. Let confidence ooze from you so that the potential affiliate does not think it is a scam or a no-good deal.
14. Finally, never forget to keep smiling; put up a cheerful face which will attract the snobbish kind also!
