I would say that the 1st thing that you need to address is what you are going to say.
You therefore need to have a good understanding of SFI and TripleClicks. With this knowledge come confidence. When people say that they 'are not good at approaching people face to face' it is generally because of the lack of confidence. So knowledge of your subject matter is the key.
You dont have to know it all. If you are asked a question that you do not know the answer to, just say that you will find out the answer and came back to them. Get their contact phone number, find out the answer and ring them back. You are following up on a sales lead!
Having gained the knowledge about SFI and TripleClicks and before you approach any person for promotional purposes, you need to work out what you are going to say. Write down your 'sales line' and know it by heart. You need to know it so well that you can say it in sequence and in different words but meaning the same. You dont want to sound like a robot reciting sentences.
What we are talking about here is preparation.
Other than your sales line, think also of likely objections or questions people might have. Anticipate these and find out answers etc..
Rehearse these with friends if possible.
Preparation also includes the person you are going to target. This is important especially if you are just starting out. I would say target those people you know, think about their situation, if they are known to you and tailor your approach accordingly.
Approaching total strangers? I would say do this only after you have had some practise and have developed the confidence to do so.
Don't allow the nos to knock you. Dont be put off by the people who say no. That is just part
of the game, so to speak. Move onto the next person.
