We know now that we have an average success rate of 2% to 4% of active PSA's. This mean that out of a hundred PSA's, two to four should be active.
It all depends on how many PSA's you got. For example if I only got 50 PSA's, I can give the non active ones much more attention where as I got 600 PSA's. What I do is to re-assign the PSA,s with different cultures and language problems to some of my hard workers who can better understand them and communicate with them. I find it works much better to get such PSA active.
Most important I think it all start with your welcome letter. Make sure each PSA receive your welcome letter within 24 hours after they joined. In you welcome letter you will state amongst many other things that you are there to help them and you will already encourage them to follow your lead. So, if you haven't done this first very important step, you cant blame the PSA for becoming inactive.
I think its very important to follow up on each and every new PSA at least once a day in their first week with SFI. You will give them tips, offer your help every time, encourage them to follow your lead, motivate them, create trust, show them you care.
To sum it up, I think we make or break a PSA in their first week with SFI. Don't understand me wrong. There are the ones (most of them) who joined with the wrong expectations and attitude. with them there are noting you can do. Work with them very hard the first week, you will soon know if they are not at all interested, then walk away. Still send them team mails and everything, but focus your attention on the ones you can win.
