Hi, Chet Cowie.
Congratulations for setting up your personal SFI Website.
The most valuable use of your site is for promoting your SFI Business: sponsoring affiliates, selling Tripleclicks products and services, promoting your own ECA store, inviting potential ECAs, and selling Tcredits for Pricebenders auctions.
If designed professionally and used properly, an SFI personal website may solve some critical issues SFI Affiliates are facing today with the major social media websites as well as slow SFI email delivery by major free email providers such as AOL and MSN (which includes Hotmail, Live.com and Outlook).
We know that Facebook (and maybe some other social media sites) blocks nearly all URLs and links containing SFImg.com. You may be able to use your website to promote your SFI Business there.
The above is gearing your SFI Website towards the market at large to propel your business.
You can also use your website to help your Affiliates and teach them duplication. As a Canadian from Ontario, you may promote your website to French speaking Affiliates, they may be from Quebec or from other French speaking countries. You may run some webinar in other languages if you have a large portion of your genealogy that speak a given language such as Spanish for Filipinos and South American Affiliates.
You may want to widen your question to the one every website owner faces: how to optimize all the potential their website has, and make it ultimately profitable? The answer will be provided after the following preliminary remarks.
The first and most important point is to make sure that your website fully complies with SFI personal website policies. You can find it through this link, if you have not seen them yet. The link may also be useful to the readers.

Compliance with these policies will help you operate successfully and mirror SFI as closely as possible.
Second point to keep in mind: choose for your website a name that resonates very well and easy to remember. Think about why the following names are popular: SFI, eBay, Amazon, MSN, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. Of course, you are not operating at their level, but the name carries weight in your promotional success.
Third, you already have solved two major questions: (i) you have determined which affiliate program to promote; and, (ii) your website content is already defined.
Now, come the technical issues. Basically, they boil down to successful website promotion. The web is all about this. There is so much information out there. But, let’s summarize the main and most relevant aspects.
I. The size of the competition: Every website, every blog, every page is competing for attention, the goal being to get traffic, retain the visitors and use them as a promotional tool to attract other visitors. The tools to get that attention are numerous. Let’s mention few of them. Just run a search on SFI Personal website. With MSN you will get about 1, 150,000 results. With yahoo, I got 1, 300,000 results; but surprisingly I only got 103,000 results. Still the number is too large for your site to have any chance to be viewed.
II. The Promotion tools: to get your website rank high in the search engines is known as SEO (Search Engine optimization), using back links, keywords selected as most likely to be used by the prospects you want to attract. Educate yourself about SEO. It is a must.
III. Attracting free traffic: write blogs articles and press releases and link them to your website. Your write-ups should contain those popular keywords. Use RSS feed engines such as Feedburner, FeedFairy, Feedzilla and others
IV. Promote your website through the most popular social media sites mentioned above, in the preliminary remarks. For instance, you may want to create a Facebook page and a LinkedIn Professional Profile both linked to your website.
V. Advertise heavily your website with all the means available to you. Capture that traffic with landing and splash pages. You may want to use an autoresponder that will allow you to build a list. Some of your visitors may not sign up with SFI right away. Attract them t back with frequent updates on what’s going on at SFI.
VI. Monetize your website: set up tools that will allow ads to be placed on your site which will generate revenues for you. A good example is Google Adwords. You can create a free account. Build on this and expand your opportunities. You can learn more about this issue by doing some additional research
VII. Periodically, update your website. There are two major components here: (a) update the content using SFI NEWS feed. (b) Review your website ranking and results with website analytics. Google Analytics have great benchmarks with which you may want to be familiar and use on a regular basis.
If you do the above proficiently, you will have great results with your site.
