I may not get any votes on my answer being so late, but I’d like to add a bit more.
It is important to have a good photo in our SFI account for the reason being we are involved in an international business and people should know who we are.
People around the world joining our business would want to see if this business is real and if real people are running it, and not a faceless machine.
What makes a good photo?
A nice, smiling face looking straight at the camera, with clear and uncluttered background, would invite trust and interest from the people looking.
A real and friendly face of a person, not that of an avatar or a pet dog, penguin, or even a tattooed muscle, will be be reassuring and welcoming to people who come in contact with us.
It doesn't matter if the photo is in colour or in black and white, it should bear a truthful image of the person, alone, and not in company or hidden among the background scenery, or in a particular pose that may attract criticism or laughter or other comments.
