Hello Michael,
I shall start my answer with three very important SFI rules:
1.)
"Both, Sponsors and Co-Sponsors, have a responsibility to support their affiliates. If you are willing to earn income on the actions of your affiliates, you must of course be willing to also help them with questions they might have, share tips, etc. This is an integral part of our type of business. It's all about working together for mutual gain."
2.)
If you don't like your sponsor, you can opt out of SFI for six months and rejoin under any SFI affiliate of your choosing.

However, in my opinion, losing a six months of productivity and inclusion in business is very bad decision.
3.)
If your sponsor sends an e-mail directly to SFI Support, releasing you as his/her personally sponsored affiliate, you may rejoin SFI under a different sponsor; SFI reserves the right to assess each situation on an individual basis. Easy way, if your non-responsive Sponsor give any contact to you and send e-mail to SFI with confirmed releasing you, you can immediately choose own and another Sponsor.
Let us to little discuss this situation, as real and possible. Your upline could be in whole range ie. total a non-responsive (you haven't any support and comunications with them). Beleive me, you not need any upline. They could exsist only to catch commisions, let's say. That is one sense. Why not? So evere deserved or not deserved.
If you're fortunate enough to have chosen a Sponsor who supports you with satisfaction, that's great. But, if you aren't enough satisfied with the support your upline provides, that's okay, too. Whatever, success you achieve is always going to come down to what you do and nobody else. You never allow yourself to think about your upline or anyone else controls what level of success you achieve. Blaming others for your lack of success is a wrong attitude. Blameing will keep you from ever achieving your goals. Only and you alone are responsible for your success, here it is business, not game! Don't' forget it!
Hereby standing in SFI many resources instead non-responsive upline ... shortly: Basics, Launchpad, Support, ASK SC, Ask Gary, your own created net of A2A friends, external resources about SFI and online marketing. You deserves what you do alone.
Never forget, you must to lead your down line, your own team and having affiliates which give to you dupliplicatons and commissions. There exist your role as Sponsor and Co-sponsor. You haven't problem with non-responsive upline, but you will have big problem if you loose your downline!
Conclusion:
------------
If you have a non-responsive Sponsor, don't let go out SFI, but find out other resources. SFI has wide posibilities and options to offer you avesome practice in business. Never give up. There are millions of guestions, but each of them with several smart answers - that is a SFI.
Happy New Year 2014.
With regards and non-responsive upline, also
