Undoubtedly this is a brilliant question because it's very important to have people trust you especially in a business relationship like SFI that is open to anyone without discrimination, more so as part of an international community. And in addition to trust, following your leadership. Nevertheless the way I've chosen to respond is by extracting a few key words from within the question. These words are "develop" and "follow "which are inseperable connected to your leadership.
Trust can be defined as having confidence in a PERSON or SYSTEM,or THING to do what you want done, especially if you lack the expertise, skill or ability. In other words they are looking for the expert. You must become the expert, you must market your self. When you're a true leader people will follow you. However keep in mind, your leadership skills and ability is what gives birth to trust/confidence which DEVELOPS into a relationship that meshes or gels over time. So your affiliates will eventually follow your leadership as they develop trust in you.
Now here are some qualifications or characteristics of true leadership.
. Knowledge or the system. People follow you and want to identify with you when they see you know and have something.
. The ability to make people fell a sense of importance. Not just an ID number but a team player.
. Lead by example. No one follows you if they don't know where you're taking them.
. Make calculated decisions.
. Hold youself responsible and be accountable to your team.
. Measure and reward performances. In the corporate world they give bonuses...
. Have a positive energy and challenge others to think.
. Sovlve problems or seek answers.
. Be a great teacher/ facillator.
. Invest in your relationship with....
"What you persue will determine the path you travel, the people you associate with, the character you develop, and ultimately what you accomplish" Quotation
Hope this was helpful.
