With all of the language and cultural differences in SFI, the initial contact needs to connect with many different people. Therefore, it might be better to use a different initial welcome with each language group. The importance of translating at least some of the message into their language in your initial welcome shows that you respect their language and culture.
For follow up, I suggest the Checklist under Affiliate Manager on each persons profile page. This is a great tool, and gives you guidelines on being an awesome sponsor. Send a letter every few days while you check off the list. It is designed to be completed in 10 days. It works great by helping the leader stay on track and follow what has worked for those in the past. It also gives you something to recommend when your members have problems with following up.
