First of all, I would start where you live. Look for small to mid-sized businesses. Visit these stores and browse the merchandise if time allows. Do they sell consumable products? Gift type products? Functional products, like tools or furniture? Then ask yourself, are these products something I would buy online? Would you go back to this merchant to buy again? If you answered yes, then they are a good prospect. If they currently do business on EBAY then they would be an excellent prospect.
Take a 3 x 5 index card or a notebook in the store with you and take notes as to what kind of products they have available. This will help you later when you are preparing your postcards for sending.
