One of the ways to get downlines to participate in team contests is to send a team mail to everyone in your team, this will increase momentum and excitement to everybody, because I have personally tried this method, got 4 new PSA that achieved EA ranking in few days time. As a reward, I promised to reassigned 2 affiliates to anyone in my team that became EA within the contest period.
How do I get my downline members to participate in my team contests?
You have to make the contests interesting, and not so hard to win! Prices must be attractive to your Team members then they'll want to give their best to try to win. For example, for the new affiliates, you can set contest and give gift certificates for bying wave3 for first five who reach EA status… For the older ones, give gift certificates on different amounts, depending on scores they make in the current month, for example the first one gets xx$ GC, next ten gets xx$ GC etc…
Send out a reminder in your weekly newsletter and be sure to recognize anyone who is completing the task.

I think you need to create a very interesting contest first. A contest that even the other affiliates that is not on your team wants to join. You need to put yourself in the shoe of your downlines, what do you think they are looking for in the contest, what makes them so excited to join the contest, what are their preferences in terms of the prices? Second, You need to inform them in a way that makes them jump for excitement or that makes them curious. You need to be very creative both in creating the contest itself and creating the invitation email for the contest. Third, I think this is very important, You need, really need to build rapport to all your downlines. Don't just chose the affiliates that you wanted to give a good relationship with (But I'm not saying you are not giving a fair treatment to your affiliates). Because I believe it is very easy to convince people to join in something, or to let them do something if they trust you and they believe in you. People don't want to participate because they hate the contest or they hate or don't trust the people who organized that contest. And you need to make sure that the invitation is sent to every affiliate not just to those people who are active in your group page. I think it would be more effective when you send an invitation trough emails than though posting in a group page alone. I hope it helps. :)

The best way to get your affiliates to participate in your team contests is by informing them whenever you conduct team contests.
Draw their attention to the contests by referring them to your leadership page. Also infom them about any ongoing contest in your weekly team mails. Even in your stream posts.

There is not much you can do to get your downline members to participate in your team's contests. Other than maintaining your leadership page with positive information that will either teach a strategy or inspire one to act, I have found maintaining a close communication a good strategy. Most times when I get a new affiliate, I will send him/her a welcome message and reach out to help if need be. Most times they will respond with more questions and I will volunteer to help. so that keeps us in close communication and from time to time I will either send a message about the next step and points needed and offer to help with ideas to move forward if need be. I will leave my phone number and Skype id and ask team members to use it to get me whenever they are stock with some tasks. So by them sending me information via this additional means helps me pass sensitive information quickly and direct to them. Make sure that your contests is simple and clear. No matter what you do, remember that most affiliates will not be active, just accept it and move on. I have learned to work with the workers and leave the quitters alone.

If they are in need of points they will take part in order to get the gifts or price you will give them if they are participating. I am sure your request to team contest would make them think there are others to compete with and they will feel like "O I need to get into this to win price"
There are all types of workers and those who think its fun to take part in contests will have no problem once you make the offer. The thought of you wanting your team to take part in contests is a great one and I do hope you have a great team who will jump into your offer.

I find it difficult to set contests and have some look for the benefit without really working for it. I now try to empathize how if they go through the effort required to take part in the contest the benefit of doing so will bring its own results and rewards and the prize on top is a bonus. Often I will reward my workers with reassignments of PSAs or TCredits without a contest and publicize the reward in my newsletter and stream posts so everyone sees that if they work hard then I will reward them.

Surprisingly, I've struggled with this too! You would think people would be all over free stuff, but oddly, they're not!
So far, the most effective thing for me is to let them know about the contests. I also have contests with varying degrees of difficulty, so my affiliates know that I will make good on delivering prizes and also to give them a sense of accomplishment.
I also award prizes even if they don't 'officially' enter, and then just send a quick reminder about the contests and why they've received whatever prize.

After having done contests for over 25 years I would recommend offering items, such as leads, that result in the growth of your Affiliates business. This would allow you focus on those Affiliates who are actually building a business. Also, your hard earned marketing funds would "always" be producing results. Do NOT simply give "stuff" away that has no residual income producing benefit to your business. Google and spend some time studying the 80/20 rule and then focus on your 20%.

Hello Beatrice
Good question. I have tried several ways, and I have found this works for me.
Make sure all your team members have enough time to participate.
Make the prizes worthwhile and usable at Triple Clicks.
Keep your contests interesting.
Contact team members (those you consider could use the benefits most) individually).
I hope this is useful to you.
Good luck and warm regards.
