Unfortunately, many people fail to achieve success in network marketing because their efforts are focused on short-term growth, rather than building long-term relationships.
The prevailing mentality seems to be ... contact all known, as soon as possible about your opportunity. And if they are not receptive, then somehow wrong .. You think you just do not understand.
There's even a term popular in network marketing that is used to describe this situation: "Some do, some do not, so what, NEXT!"
This is not only presumptuous, but counterproductive, not to mention downright rude in the way they treat people whom we approached. And yet, this is the path taken by most network marketers, and what is worse, this behavior is encouraged by the so-called 'experts' and MLM companies in general.
The result of this approach has been, is and will be frustration, alienation and failure. And unfortunately, many people who engage in network marketing enthusiasts who are new and are simply doing what they are told, hoping that their efforts will ultimately lead to success. This paradigm represents the current state of network marketing.
So what is the alternative? Well, in my opinion, begins with the vision of its recruitment perspective as someone with whom you would like to develop a lifelong friendship that transcends any potential monetary gain. Moreover, not just see them as someone who could lead to several other recruiting prospects, because it is this thinking that leads you down the path of the urgency, pressure tactics and judgment.
No matter what your sponsor or upline tells you, but you make a personal commitment to be always and completely open, sincere and honest about what it takes to achieve long-term success in network marketing. This means being brutally honest about the amount of time (years) and effort it takes to succeed. Equally important, be completely honest about your own experiences in network marketing.
For most of those devoted to network marketing, this may seem a very negative change, and perhaps will rush towards the mountain. And in most cases, will conflict with the training and advice they are getting from their leaders. But no matter, defend your position and choose to navigate the road to success with your relationships and integrity intact. In the short term it will be difficult, but the long-term results (solid relationship and financial success) will be so good that well worth the effort!
We keep winning!
