If everything is commercially viable, they will certainly jump in to the band wagon.
Keeping this in mind, before approaching any prospective ECAs, I would try to gather information about them on:
1. How long they are in the Business?
2. What is their credibility in the Market?
3. Do they enjoy good customer back up?
4. What is their performance in terms of their competitors?
5. What sort of Organizational Structure they got?
6. Do they have their own sound finance or they do on borrowed money from financial institutions or private sources or Money Lenders, etc?
7. Do they have their own Web site and or doing on line business or do they have any tie-up with others?
8. Do they have a good delivery tracking system?
9. Do they supply materials to their Local customers in time?
10. Will they be really serious to associate themselves with a world class On Line Store?
While collecting all these information, I will equip myself with sufficient information about SFI and TripleClicks especially on:
1. What is their back ground?
2. How long they have been in this business?
3. What is their reputation across the globe?
4. What sort of customer support system they have?
5. How they control the ECAs?
6. What sort of payment options they provide to their ECAs?
7. What is their expansion Plans?
8. Who are all their competitors?
9. What sort of Organizational Set Up they have?
10. What sort of recognition they have?
11. What is their financial standing?
12. What sort of social responsibility they exhibit?
13. What is their Safety & Security Policy?
14. How successful they are in their Affiliate Program and what is their standing today?
Arming myself with this kind of relevant information, I am able to meet many people in person, and have had continuous dialogues in the last couple of months. Many declined the offer and some did show keen desire to have more meetings in future. I am following up with them and things look positive.
Simultaneously, I also gave presentations on SFI and TripleClicks to some of the reputed but small manufacturers in my City. They too evinced keen interest and more follow ups to be done in the coming months.
