Essentially, brainstorming is a process by which new ideas are created. The initial objective of a brainstorming session is to write down as many ideas as possible about a particular objective or interest, without judging or analyzing the initial worth of those ideas. That comes later during the evaluation phase.

Brainstorming can be a group process or it can be done by an individual working alone, but either way the objective is to generate productive ideas and solutions to a specific objective.

So yes, brainstorming is a great way to help build your SFI team. The following can be applied equally to brainstorming on your own, with your team via one of the many available communication channels or with other SFI members in your area. You’re only limited by your imagination.

Start by writing down your objective. What is the problem you want your brainstorming session to resolve, or alternatively, what is it you need a solution for. This may sound obvious but you’d be surprised at how off track a brainstorming session can get if you don’t have a clear objective in mind for doing it. A likely objective or solution with respect to building your SFI team would be that you want to come up with an effective way of signing up new affiliates. Therefore you would make sure the ideas generated are aimed at this specific objective and not at how to encourage them to become EAs, which is an entirely different, although obviously related, objective. The reverse would also be true. If you want to brainstorm ways to get your PSAs to EA status, you wouldn’t write down ideas on how to recruit new PSAs in this particular brainstorming session.

Once you’ve worked out what problem you need to solve, identify what you want the solution to achieve. IE the problem you want to resolve is that you need to come up with more effective ways to attract and sign up new affiliates. So now you ask the question ‘What do I really and truly want to achieve by finding more effective ways to sign up new PSAs?’ Answer: ‘I want to build my team in order to be able to generate a good residual income. How am I going to do this – by signing up people who are going to be active and who also want to build themselves an active team and online business.’

So now your brainstorming focus has shifted from a vague 'just wanting to find an effective way to get new PSA’s', to a more laser targeted 'wanting to find an effective way to get new PSA’s that are more likely to understand what SFI is about and who want to work at building their own teams and online business'. This is a much sharper objective for your brainstorming – you now know you really need to attract a certain type of sign up to achieve your objective so you can focus your brainstorming ideas on how to best get those types of people to sign up.

Then give yourself a set time frame (ie half an hour) and let the ideas start flowing. Don’t attempt to analyse or judge them at this stage; you just want to get them all down on paper (or on the computer) as they occur to you. The aim is quantity, not quality but because you’ve given yourself a clear objective, you’ll be getting a lot more quality anyway than you perhaps otherwise would have.

Next, clarify and condense the ideas until you have a nice neat list of unique ideas. Then it’s time to evaluate and edit, armed with that important objective you’re already figured out. This is where you start discarding the ideas that don’t align with that objective. For instance, you may have written ‘spend more time in traffic exchanges’ but when lined up against your objective, you realise that you’re not likely to find the types of people you’re looking for in most TE’s.

Eventually you should end up with a list of great ideas that are all focused on allowing you to achieve your pre-determined objective, which is to find effective ways of signing up people who are going to be active and who also want to build themselves an active team and online business.. Now you can use those ideas to work out a laser-targeted course of action.

If you’ve been doing a group brainstorming session, each of you can take away the final list of ideas and come up with a plan of action that suits each individual.

First and formost, we need to know what Brainstorming is. Brainstorming is a process designed to obtain the maximum number of ideas relating to a specific area of interest.

Brainstorming can be the Traditional brainstorming or Advanced Brainstorming. Traditional brainstorming is where a group of people come together, share ideas and come up with a solution. With this, the whole team is credited or Recognised. But in the Advanced Brainstorming, only the originator of the idea is credited.

The benefits of Brainstorming are:-

1. Creative thinking is encouraged:- When you throw a group of people together, give them a problem to solve and say, “Let’s throw some ideas out there,” it gets the creative juices flowing. Ideas give birth to more ideas, and people will bounce ideas off one another. The creativity will bubble over. When your thoughts are given free rein, it is much easier to come up with solutions.

2. All ideas are accepted:- Ideas offered up in a brainstorming session are never wrong; they are just ideas. Something may never become anything
more than an idea, but it is never wrong. Because of this, people can afford to put forth their ideas to the group without the fear of failure or ridicule. This can sometimes result in solutions coming from far out of left field because participants think “outside the box.”

3. Everyone is part of the Team:- Group brainstorming can enable all members of the group to feel like part of the team. It encourages widespread
participation and involvement; It can make all participants feel as though their ideas and input are respected and valued. When solutions to problems are found, it becomes a group achievement, and everyone can bask in the feeling of accomplishment.

4. Its exciting and easy:- The concept of brainstorming itself is not a hard thing to comprehend. You simply start with a problem or situation, or even a single word, and then you simply map out any ideas that leap to mind as a solution. You do not need to be a genius or have a degree to become involved in a brainstorming session. The very nature of the group structure can often make brainstorming a fun and exciting process. The often speedy
collation of ideas seem to race toward your common goal...the solution. It can make for an intense and exciting environment.

Joseph, employing brainstorming in your group, can be challenging as well as fun. As a Sponsor, you inform them that Tripleclicks is the online shop for all SFI affiliates. Another way of employing brainstorming benefits is that you come about with cheaper cost of advertising and getting sign ups. You and your team members can have a list of paid sites and try each of them and note which one works so as it benefits the team. Each member brings a certain amount as discussed during the brainsto?ming session. This is an incentive as the sponsor or team leader is working hand in hand with her PSAs to build their team. If such PSA duplicates their sponsors action, then they rise in ranks as well as their sponsors.

In summary, brainstorming is very good and applicable in team building as it helps in great communication with PSAS and their sponsors as well as working together as a team to achieve a common goal.

Brainstorming is always good, that's why were are here on Ask SC and also on the forums. We always need to bounce ideas off one another and learn more. Knowledge is what helps us to grow faster and so talking is a valuable asset in building your team. Make sure that you encourage your team also to share their ideas and be active not only reading everything on the SFI website, but also discussing their thoughts with other people here.

Communication is in itself a great tool we use to help us advance faster. Everyone should be encouraged to talk and to share and learn at the same time.

Without communication between one another we would lose a great deal of information. Nobody ever moved ahead by not educating themselves. Communication is part of the means of growth here at SFI.

Brainstorming is a great tool for collecting ideas/information from your team.
The focus would be to come up with ideas that would help your team grow their businesses, that would benefit your SFI team.

Using this tool has many benefits including:

- Develops team unity and spirit
- Brainstorm ideas are formulated into a plan
- Team members, because they contributed & the ideas are theirs, will have ownership and more commitment to the team plan or goals
- Can encourage members to be more active in SFI in putting the formulated plan into action
- As the Team Leader, carrying out a brainstorming session, will help you identify your future team leaders from those who participate. Future DD affiliates?

How you go about conducting your brainstorming session depends on how you communicate with your team. Obviously your team need to know what your want to do and are willing to take part.

You can send out questionnaires for your team to complete online
You can have online 'seminars'
You can have conference calls on such medias a Skype etc..
Use whatever means that can enable as many members of your team as possible to participate.

Whatever ideas your team 'brainstorm' need to be recorded then analysed and formulated into a plan.

To keep this a team activity, I would suggest that you form a small team of say 3-4 from those
who took part in the session. Let everybody know who this team members are and that they are going to use the ideas/information gathered to come up with a plan for the whole team. Your DD Affiliates would be the ideal people to be part of this planning team.

Implement the plan they come up with.

At the end of any specified period, review and analyse the plan for any expected outcome - growth/development. Let everyone know the outcome so far and what the next step/phase is going to be.

Your DD Affiliates, with your leadership & using the brainstorming technique, can be the driving force behind building your SFI team.

Definitely brainstorming can help build an SFI team. Brainstorming takes two way communication, especially when members are from such different cultures, countries and still have so much in common.

One way to brainstorm is to send emails asking one or two questions, and making suggestions, then asking members how these suggestions would work in their area, have they tried them, do they have any ideas or suggestions to add to yours. Remember several short, to the point emails usually get a better response than long complicated messages do.

Use conference calling and if possible have an interactive webinar. Throw out some ideas and get the members responses.

For brainstorming to work, you must have someone dedicated to write down any and all responses without judgment. Then collate the responses in whatever order seems appropriate, and then send the collated responses to the members asking for their comments and ideas as to how to implement the suggestions in the list.

Once you get a cohesive compilation of suggestions, ideas and comments. Then you send that to all the members and have them vote 1-5 on feasibility for their area. After this you can make up a plan. Part of it everyone can follow, and parts will have to be done country by country or region by region.

Some people may find the suggestions valuable even if the group doesn't, and put them to use for themselves. This is what makes brainstorming so valuable in such a diverse group.

Brainstorming can help one build his/her SFI team. Brainstorming can be either done internally or externally. Internally brainstorming is one done with ones upline and downline while external brainstorming is the one carried out with other people outside our team. It requires minimum of two persons to brainstorm. Either way, the purpose for doing it can be achieved. We can use SFI mediums of communication such as SFI instant message or a2a or employ external messaging platforms like phonecalls, Facebook messenger, whatsapp etc.

Starting with internal brainstorming. One brainstorm with upline team members because you need guidance to progress in your SFI business. You need tips to grow like the Leaders above you in the team. In this circumstance, you prepare the questions you need answers to and communicate in advance to the team Leader you purpose. The team Leader gives time to hold such session.
You also brainstorm with your downline for the purpose of helping them grow like you. You also prepare and communicate with the team member/members you desire to hold such session. A time must be agreed on and all is set.

External brainstorming is usually a session between you and someone outside your team. The chosen person can be from the same class or region or a self chosen mentor. The short answer to your first question is yes.

It makes your team members feel more like part of a team than simple one-on-one dialogue with you as their team leader. Also, you never know what ideas your team will come up with. It may be that one of your team knows a lot more on a given subject than you do, and being able to share that with other team members may help them in ways that you cannot.

As for the second question, you first need to think about logistics. If your team is spread around the world, a group chat in Skype (or other similar chat program) may be the best way to get it done. If your budget allows, you might consider a webinar program. If you have a local group, you could arrange to meet at a coffee shop, hotel cafe, or similar venue on a regular basis (be prepared to buy the coffee).

Try to make the meeting (or virtual meeting) as informal as possible, and try to get everyone involved in the discussion, encouraging input from everyone, and have a list of ideas of your own ready to discuss, in case you need to kick start the conversation. Once things get started, assume the role of moderator, guiding the discussion and making sure you stay on topic. Make sure the group come up with an agreed plan of action as a result of the discussion, then follow up on the plan.

Remember, the best leaders are those who are able to motivate and inspire others, and there are few things in business that will motivate a person more than having one of their original ideas put into action by their sponsor/mentor, especially if they are rewarded for it.

I love brain storming and it is showing in my SFI business.
How did i do it?
First to brainstorm means the using of your brain to make huge profits in business. To do this require in depth thinking which is known as Meditation.
Meditation brings illumination and insight in generating creativity.
Secondly is Gathering of Information. Mental distinction comes as a result of the volume of information.
What makes your SFI business successful in building your team is information on your leadership style, planning, advertising and business strategies, marketing techniques etc.
These require training. Through training, you rub minds with greater minds to improve your brain.
The mind controls the brain and it is the seat of knowledge, wisdom, creativity, invention, innovation, understanding and to tap into all these is to develop your mind via information and training. These two lead to learning.
You cannot build your team beyond what you know. So to build better and bigger, you need to learn it.
Thirdly is by sitting to plan your goals and dreams for your team on what i call Vision Board. This is where you activate and execute your plan and purpose that you have. This is where you'l know what worked and what did not work and how to use it to guide and lead your team.
