I must admit that I have not yet needed to translate whilst using SFI Instant Messaging. All of my messages so far have been in English regardless of where the sender came from.

I have found that most people from non English speaking backgrounds, have a basic knowledge of English and thus translation is not needed. In saying that, if I did need to use this tool, this is what I would do:

I would have 2 browser windows open. One browser window would be open to Google

First, identify the country and the language spoken by your PSAs. In movers, click on PSA you want to chat with when they are online with green dot. In genealogy, click on name of PSA at Affiliate Center .Page.. Choose language of the Affiliate. Click on 'send message' or click on green or white dot to start the conversation.

Or you can type in the messages and your messages are translated according to the languages of the PSAs.. Press 'enter' and your conversation is done.

I use www.google.com/translate which is what SFI uses on their pages.

Of course, ask if they can speak some English or another language, and you can send messages using both, English and their native language.

If you send messages in English, or your own language, notice what language they use when they message you. Google Translate can detect languages. I find that a great help, especially when receiving emails, team mails or instant messaging.

You can send them

I would not use instant messaging for that purpose if I do not speak their language. There are translation tools all over the internet, but none of them are proficient enough to effectively communicate with an affiliate who speaks a different language.

The only way I know to deal with this issue is through the A2A Friends feature. Try to make friends with successful SFI affiliates from other countries. Then work out a partnership with them. Perhaps they can communicate with your affiliates

Unless they do not speak any language you are comfortable with, I suggest you use some translator tools: just use a search engine to find the one that you like the most.
When I am in need to communicate with people who can speak only their native language, I always have Google Translator open on another tab.

Another solution is to make SFI friends from the same country your PSA is from, preferably through the a2a program. You can ask them to communicate for you; and you may return

Good day Mariama,

Nice question and here is the best way of communicating with PSA from other countries whose Primary Language is not English Language.

What i do is that i open Google translator, copy the message that i have typed in English and click on the Primary Language of my PSAs then send. If there is a reply, i would copy the message and put on the Google translator to get the response in English and reply in the PSA primary language.

Hope explanation above

Hello.

When communicating with PSAs from other countries, first check do they speak English.
If they understand slightly, try to use simpler words and sentences while communicating, otherwise if they do not speak English at all the easiest but not the best option is Google Translate.

Google translate will provide translated sentence but, most of the time, those sentences will be grammatically incorrect and can be confusing to PSA.

It would be very useful if You

Well, translations and languages, is an important bridge that connects two distances together.

There are several ways to make use of translations to perfecting our language communications.

For me, I'm using Googles Translator on another opened window, texting by few words on each sentences, because the word length is limited to only few alphabets counting.

After the text, I'll just copy it and paste it on my Notepad.

There we go, pieces by pieces until

First I'll suggest you use a good translator. My favorite of cos is the google translator. Open it on a different tab.

Select the language you wish to translate to.

Now type the message you wish to communicate with your PSA and enter it. A translation comes out.

Copy this and paste on the SFIM.

Do the same when you receive a message to translate back to your own language. Hope this helps.

The universal message of SFI is duplication, of course (the favorite "D" word around these parts). So I (and many others) would recommend Google Translate to get that message across.

Set up a chat session with your PSAs if they come to you with a question. Translate your message to their native language as best as you can. If your affiliates absorb this message quite well, then they'll gain an understanding on how to build their respective businesses. Then you'll have effectively
