I would like my 10 A2A friends, to be people I can easily communicate with and that I find we have mutual respect in helping each other to succeed in our Businesses, and share ideas of what is working for each one of us.
Followers are generally those that I find have useful information to share but in general I don't have a one to one connection like I tend to have with A2A friends.

I personally never actually chose my A2A friends. originally they actually sent me a request which I accepted.
We do have the choice to change our A2A friends, so if I were to find that some would not communicate with me at all, I can always replace them with someone that I have become more connected to.

We also now have the chat facility, so whether A2A or not we can communicate with others too So with time we might find ourselves adjusting our A2A friends if we felt it would be beneficial.

I view a2a as a central piece of the "Help Network" available within SFI, and the entire SFI as a family and a team.

If you help another affiliate, you also learn, grow as a mentor and a team member. Thus, it is much more positive and rewarding to approach a2a as a sharing, mutually supportive, and personal growth opportunity. As a result, your a2a friends should not be picked up from the standpoint of "what help you can get", but rather from your own willingness to provide help to others.

Before the changes in a2a, in my first year with SFI, I built over 2,000 a2a connections. It was a great support network with affiliates across continents and seniority within SFI. I made it a priority to have as many a2a friends from my E365 class as I could. We helped each other. We supported one another. We grew as affiliates, together.

The changes brought to a2a were justified, as I learned afterwards, because some were abusing it. Now, it is safer. We all are benefiting from the current a2a.

The 10 a2a friends, we may have now, are those with whom we can initiate contact. However, we can still accept 'friendship requests" from as many other affiliates as we get. As they are not on the 10 list we picked, we cannot initiate contact with them, but they can take the initiative to contact us with their questions for any advice they see beneficial to seek. Thus, we have the possibility to provide them with our support, our mentoring and our help. By doing so, not only are we useful to others, we also benefit, learn and grow because of our openness to provide unselfish assistance SFI family members. .

This approach to a2a changes the dynamic of your question. It is not about "from whom I can get help". It is about "who I can help".

When we put the a2a network back within the entire SFI Help mechanism, we have a comprehensive , effective and very useful support system. We can follow any of Forum members. We have knowledgeable answers from the Ask SC questions. We have our upline that is mentoring us. And finally, we have Technical Support.

These are the reasons why I took a passive approach in picking up my 10 a2a friends. I did not go asking "with whom I can be friend". I picked them from those who contacted me, wanting to be my friends. We all have noticed that when we get an a2a friend request, we have the options to "accept and add" to our friends list or just to "accept" , or simply to reject. I choose to accept any request I get. I feel honored if an affiliate asks to be my friend. I accept their request and give them the opportunity to contact me if they choose to do so. Within this process, I have replaced only two of my 10 a2a because they were no longer active with SFI. That is the only reason why I make modifications on my list.

In the Forum, we may choose to follow any member who posts accurate information about SFI, gives valuable, practical tips that help us grow our business, as well as those who are great motivators and mentors.

I have found this to be very effective and very rewarding in building my list of 10 a2a friends and keeping myself abreast of the dynamics of Ask SC and the Forum.

First of all, you want someone that you want to emulate. If a person wants to be a great athlete, he doesn't hang out with bird watchers. If a person want's to be a great marketer, he doesn't hang out with someone content to still be an affiliate after 3 years. It doesn't mean that bird watchers and affiliates are bad people, it just means that you want to get as close as you can to those you most want to be like.

Secondly, they have to be willing to take the time to answer your questions. That doesn't mean you make a pest of yourself, but if you have a question now and then, will they answer you without it seeming to be a burden.

Third is language. I don't place language number 1 because if I think the best Marketer is Chinese, or Serbian, etc. I will go out of my way to communicate, because I want the BEST!

Even though it's a bit Crude my Dad's advice rings true, "You can't learn to soar with eagles by surrounding yourself with turkeys".

Many of our top business and life coaches like Jim Rohn tell you that surrounding yourself with successful people will help you reach success because we all mimic the habits of our friends and family because we try to fit into the pack instead of leading the pack as human nature.

For us to become pack leaders we need to join pack leaders and mimic their actions instead of those of the pack. We need to seek out the Queen Bee and Alpha Male types and discover what makes them such respected leaders who attract success.

We must also seek those who have an upbeat personality, especially if we have tendencies to move more clumsy through a conversation. I myself am Bi-polar and not everything I say is as polite and respectful as the real me is 90% of the time, but it would not serve me well to befriend a bunch of people with negative attitudes when my goal is to make it back to the respectful leader I have always been since way before my disorder started reshaping what I say.

You will see me come back and apologize when I am wrong, or don't say things in a constructive manner. I do my best to be humble and right any wrongs but at the same time I am a human with a condition that some humans get and feel I can best advocate it by not hiding my mental illness and showing that people like me can sometimes be a little rude, and occasionally a little mean, but for the most part are loving and respectful people who just face added challenges.

Surrounding myself with peers helps with support but with leaders gives me inspiration so I picked 10 people I see as leaders.

You are able to engage on one-on-one communications via SFI’s Team Mail messaging system and SFI Instant Messaging with your a2a friends. You must use that opportunity to your best advantage.

So for me, I believe it is best to make a2a friends with the people you want to learn something from them. People whom you think they understand SFI whom you can rely on for clearing your doubts. People whom you can for ask an advice, help and/or tips. People who are good and can teach you what you don’t know about your business. Like those who are good on internet and website building. Because you can engage on one-on one with them, you can contact them anytime when need be.

To follow - You can follow people who are motivational and who post valuable post, tips and advices. People who answers the questions to the fullest with best answers.

1. You choose them based on their experienced in the SFI business.

2. You choose them if they are from your country. For ease of meeting and organising a seminar.

3. You choose them especially if there are ECAs where they sell goods that you order or buy regularly.

4. You choose them based on questions asked and how prompt they have responded to the questions asked.

Does the affiliate do something a little different that I want to learn how to duplicate?

My first priority in my list as a2a friends are my upline starting from my direct sponsor and co-sponsor. Secondly, I picked those who are active in Forum and contributing positive practical ideas on SFI business.
However, it's up to SFI to approve those are legible as a2a friends and at the moment I have 7 in my list of different ranks. Those of the same mind can think together to make progress are welcome. The quantity limited as2a friend is based on SFI approval. So I have no control over it.

As for followers, the forum readers will make the decision when they follow the forum by way of 'likes' When they are your a2a friends and followers, you are connected to them in the forum or in streams or tips of the day.
