We are in the age of ‘webminar’ and people are more comfortable to attend the meeting at the comfort of their home and computer. Setting up a group meeting or seminars would need a little more details and attention. Official business meeting will need a very specific pre-planning arrangement such as set-up of organizing committee, fund raising committe etc (too long to give a breakdown). For network marketers it’s a different ball game altogether.
1) How will you announce about your upcoming meeting or seminars?
Newspapers advertisement? Do you have the big budget for it? Mostly do not have the ability to do this. How about this free advert?
When you meet your friends or be it strangers, but please be tactful, you could start something along this line;
a) I know you have been looking for information and options to help you solve your problem of _______. I am going to a business meeting tonight with someone who might be able to help you with that. Are you interested in joining me? OR
b) I know you are planning to purchase ____________. This week, our featured speaker at my business meeting, is an expert on the subject. Can you come with me to hear the speaker? It may help you make the right buying decision.
These are words of mouth. With ready details made available, like small flyers ready for distribution, you may want to use this;
c) I am looking for a guest to take to my business meeting. It is less than ____ hours, there will be ___ interesting presentations, and a whole room full of business associates for you to network with. Can you come with me? Or would you like to join me?
d) I know you are a people person that enjoys meeting and networking with people. Would you like to join me and meet a room full of new business contacts? It will be an interesting meeting with great professionals will be there. Will you join me? Better still if you say ‘what time should I pick you up”
2) How do you target the right audience
You should prepare a list or the type of people you are inviting, that will benefit most by attending. By niche, if you are promoting TC for PRMs, invite appropriate segment of audience.
3) Finally, confirm all arrangements are in order
As I did not spell out the details of the pre-planning to avoid long write-up, assuming that date, venue, VIPs and invited speakers, theme and subject of event has been finalized, mailing done, participants list confirmed, meeting’s door gift /pack ready, it is a good practice that you go through the last time on the whole program to ensure all are order and it will run smoothly.
4) Photograph. A way of recording your event to be used for next meeting or advertising. As a proof you’ve done something successful.
