I do not know what you mean which is better and why, for me I would say;
No way of communication is better, both are useful it will depend on which one you want to use.
All messages will go to the affiliates email.
What matters is that you do great communication to your affiliates to build relations with them, make them more of your friends(but of course very formal friends) so they can feel free to communicate to you when in need in an easy way!

Of course, both approaches are excellent. When you contact the PSA through SFI recommend that you use and send E card welcome. How to make a visually better picture of the seriousness of your company as a sponsor. While over personal e-mail can be closer to your PSA and better to introduce yourself and introduce him to the job.
So that all options are possible and make the most of them.

Why not both? For the beginners always send an e-mail. Many beginners do not manage to SFI account and you will need to send them a message on their e-mail to make sure that they are going to read it. Later, when you get a better contact with your PSAs, you can agree to how you communicate via e-mail, SFI messaging, social networks, etc. Be sure to use team mailer for important information you want to forward to all your members.
For sure, the best way to contact your PSAs is to contact them directly, because most of the affiliates is online at least one time per day, and the new messages is always blinking. If they are not online, for some reasson they are not entering to SFI page, you have to contact them via email address, and if they are checking their mail every day, they will see your message.
But, another way to contact them is to go on My account-> My SFI reports-> Genealogy (or do that in To-Do List, and you will get points for that. Of course that is weekly actions.

Because unless and until if some one do not know your earning from your business he is not ready to take interest to invest. so both way is very good one.

We need not compare both as they are to be used in different situations
If a group message is to be sent which is same for all we may use the SFI mailers. But to communicate individually, personal mails can be used.
Also,in the beginning if mails go through SFI, it will create an authentic impression of the message. Later, once the rapport is established and people know each other, you may use other modes.
When we use PSA Mailer or CSA Mailer, the affiliates need to log on to SFI to see your message.
If however, we are trying to get inactive Affiliates working, we need to send them direct e-mails - more time consuming, but we are more sure of them receiving what we are sending them.

Good Question and Better and wise way is Use inside PSA/CSA genealogy mailer!
why?
coz it is safe and it inbox your email direct to your downlins/PSA/CSA or basically your Team
and also SFI mailers are recognize any email servers and they have good recommendation about sfi
mail coz we control spam complain and you can add only info about sfi only
so once you want to send emails it is good idea to use inside sfi mailer
Both is important...I personally copy my PSA greeting message and send to my new PSAs on their mail account. Somehow most of them do not see in alerts our greeting message and that is why is good to send on their mail account.
I also send them on team mail or on chat just to know that there is someone who is ready to help them.
